It's all Bush's fault. He had Dick Cheney's Halliburton buddies get together with Daddy Bush's oil friends and drive up oil production. The increase production increased green house gases in the South Pacific, which caused a small tropical disturbance off Florida to become a Category 3 Hurricane. This plan was hatched so as to get Kerry out of the news. The next step is to have Rumsfeld and Ashcroft steer the storm into Kerry's Beacon Hill mansion.
Whoa.
Cool!
IT'S A BEAST!
It's Cheney!
Is it expected to hit land anywhere? Haven't been following it and can't tell from the pic.
I find the timing of this hurricane suspicious. How convenient that it is releasing itself mere days after the convention, just in time to steal the Democrats' thunder.
Clinton was too busy with Monica to take the hurricane threat seriously.
how did you post that picture?
O man, I wanna take tomorrow off and go to the beach! Looks like Surf's up in Delaware!
It looks more like the mind of a liberal
a big, sucking hole surrounded by masses of hot air!
Are you sure that's a picture of a hurricane?

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't breathe!!!! BBBBWWWAAAHHHAAA
A truer funnier statement has never been made!!!!!!!!
coffee spew alert!! LOL
Where is it at on the coast? Has it hit land yet? My brother said it had hit Hampton Roads in VA. but he was drunk so who knows.
No, it is curving more to the east and will pass south of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, and is forecast to merge with an extra-tropical low in a couple of days. It should be much weaker by tomorrow - it's about to move over much cooler water.
It's well out to sea and is not forecast to hit land again, and should be much weaker by tomorrow.

That was putting it mildly....lol. The paramedics are on their way!! Leave it to a Texan to say it just like it is!! No wonder I love this Prez.
I was once in the eye of a cat 3 hurrican (Alisia, 8-83 in Houston) it is no fun at all. Particularly after when my brother and me had to go diving in the pool to get the roof tiles out.
well then I read your "brother" post and REALLY lost it!
It's well on its way to Europe, where it's bound to arrive as a powerful storm, even if no longer tropical in character.
Very funny (and Oh so true)!!!
really
really
That is incredible!
Behold the Power!
The eye of a hurricane went right over us in NJ. The sudden stop of the wind was eerie.
We were without power for a week, so in that hot and sticky aftermath I would have loved to have gotten into a pool!
...And, they're forecasting possibly record low temperatures here in Mobile this Friday and Saturday morning. Hmmmm
I was in the same eye!
Before the storm hit, I took down a yard swing from a giant old oak tree in our yard so that the swing wouldn't blow away.
After the storm, the swing was fine but the tree was gone.
Alisia was tough but being without air condition was tougher. At least you had a pool.

I'd just moved here in June.
Welcome to Houston !
Don't worry, in just 2-3 more months the weather gets good!
actually I was looking for something simpler. Yahoo had a feature that dissapeared with their new update. With old yahoo mailbox, I could copy and paste any web page I liked into the yahoo mailbox, then click on the, "show html", then copy and paste that html into freerepublic and all the graphics, links, text, borders and such would come up formatted properly.
that yahoo feature dissapeared with new version.
do you know anyplace else where I can get that feature--or something like it?

Will post this image..........
(Copy and paste the code to give it a try. It is really simple. Hope this helps.)
You might be able to help a bit.
Wish I could help. I haven't used my old Yahoo! email for quite a while.
I wasn't familiar with that even then.Sorry. :^(
yeah I know but often as not an article will have a couple of pictures associated with it. I can copy and paste the article but the picture won't come up without some labor.
We got power back in about 12 hours. Of course we had the transformer for the nieghborhood in the next yard too.
Northeast Houston was hammered. Looking back it took around 5 days for power which seemed like 2 weeks. The only people happy were the generator & ice retailers. You could not find a generator for sale in a 500 mile radius.
I know we were lucky. To this day I am thinking that it might be good to have a small generator. But there are other toys, I mean tools I want.
Recently bought a real good one. If one day you have a need for it just PM. I would gladly help. Huh....we'll unless we are in a hurricane, then you would have to fight my wife over it.
I just got a new pressure washer. It is a troybuilt (SP?) 6.5 hp Briggs and straton motor (Actually if you read the small print on the name plate it is made by B&S they just use the name). It is nice.
