It's all Bush's fault. He had Dick Cheney's Halliburton buddies get together with Daddy Bush's oil friends and drive up oil production. The increase production increased green house gases in the South Pacific, which caused a small tropical disturbance off Florida to become a Category 3 Hurricane. This plan was hatched so as to get Kerry out of the news. The next step is to have Rumsfeld and Ashcroft steer the storm into Kerry's Beacon Hill mansion.

Analysis show you have a good eye ... just like Alex still got one. It took time but it was worth, now 15 nautical miles wide ...

Is it expected to hit land anywhere? Haven't been following it and can't tell from the pic.

I find the timing of this hurricane suspicious. How convenient that it is releasing itself mere days after the convention, just in time to steal the Democrats' thunder.

It's all Bush's fault.

Clinton was too busy with Monica to take the hurricane threat seriously.

Where is it at on the coast? Has it hit land yet? My brother said it had hit Hampton Roads in VA. but he was drunk so who knows.

No, it is curving more to the east and will pass south of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, and is forecast to merge with an extra-tropical low in a couple of days. It should be much weaker by tomorrow - it's about to move over much cooler water.

It's well out to sea and is not forecast to hit land again, and should be much weaker by tomorrow.

I was once in the eye of a cat 3 hurrican (Alisia, 8-83 in Houston) it is no fun at all. Particularly after when my brother and me had to go diving in the pool to get the roof tiles out.

Alex just beated the one of the two previous records it set : 41.7° N and still at the intensity peak.
Alex just has set a third record ; first category 3 hurricane ever to pass 41°N ...

It's well on its way to Europe, where it's bound to arrive as a powerful storm, even if no longer tropical in character.

We were without power for a week, so in that hot and sticky aftermath I would have loved to have gotten into a pool!

I was in the same eye!

Before the storm hit, I took down a yard swing from a giant old oak tree in our yard so that the swing wouldn't blow away.

After the storm, the swing was fine but the tree was gone.

actually I was looking for something simpler. Yahoo had a feature that dissapeared with their new update. With old yahoo mailbox, I could copy and paste any web page I liked into the yahoo mailbox, then click on the, "show html", then copy and paste that html into freerepublic and all the graphics, links, text, borders and such would come up formatted properly.

that yahoo feature dissapeared with new version.

do you know anyplace else where I can get that feature--or something like it?

Northeast Houston was hammered. Looking back it took around 5 days for power which seemed like 2 weeks. The only people happy were the generator & ice retailers. You could not find a generator for sale in a 500 mile radius.
