Kerry/Edwards lawyers warn TV stations over Swift Boat ad
Rush ^ | August 5, 2004 | unknown

Posted on 08/05/2004 12:01:48 PM PDT by mcg1969

In Rush's closing segment he said that he just received a story or document saying that lawyers for both the Kerry and Edwards teams were sending out letters to TV stations warning them about showing the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth advertisement!

Exactly as the Clintons would have it...neither Clinton profits from a Kerry win...MUD

Yes, you are exactly right...

But the Clintooons may be crushed by the avalanche of their own creation.

We can always hope, right?

I can't get in to the website at the moment... so either a LOT of people are trying to see the video at the same time or the DNC is doing a Denial of Service attack. Forgive my ignorance but how does one do a "Denial of Service attack"? Just have people jam up the website?

Anyone else been listening to Van O'Dell on Medved?

Pretty damning stuff. I hope we can get a transcript at some point.

Not military personnel, per se, but veterans favor Bush/Kerry by those odds.

TerAYsa will sue, plus pay all legal expenses. At some point, however, even someone as dumb as the fair Ms. Heinz/Kerry has to realize she's throwing good money after bad. And we all know how she likes her creature comforts. Does she tell hubby his dream is over? Does she buy him a new SUV or a bike and promise to put it in his name as a consolation prize? He's going to be so irrelevant, and after months of secret service attention, plus the press actually wanting to talk to him, and suggesting talking points when he couldn't think of any, he's going to feel rejected, unwanted, unloved. The senate will seem like a nowhere job, which he's already figured out, hence his lack of presence there. Hill is the future of the RAT party. She won't give him the time of day once he's lost. I can hardly wait.

"Was he lying when he said he committed war atrocities?

...or is he lying now?

Both.

Kerry's official response to the "atrocities" testimony issue is that "he was young and rash, misspoke." Curious, because he's never retracted one word of it, much less apologized to the servicemen he defamed.

This, and the 9/11 comments this morning reeks of the Clintons pulling a few strings in Ketchup Boy's campaign... Apparently "I'm just a gigolo" wasn't self-destructing fast enough for them.

Once again, Moneybags, arrogant Kerry thinks he can bully ordinary citizens and get away with it. This won't work.

Hey!!! I was an REMF. We got shot at too! However, they only gave us rusty old m14's (not kidding folks!).

The guys in the bush had it really bad. They were in more combat actions in one year, than the average grunt did in 4 years in WWII.

I have run into a number of NG folks who were in it just for the money. Hell, I enlisted for the college money. However, I served my whole 12 month tour. I also never joined the VVAW. I would no sooner have consorted with Jane Fonda than with Ho Chi Minh, although Jane was better looking.

Exactly. Its very difficult for a public figure to demonstrate libel or slander. There's a very high bar for it. Ariel Sharon had a case against Time Magazine back in the mid-80s for dishonest reporting over Sabra and Chatilla and even the jury didn't grant him monetary damages. The Kerry/Edwards campaign has to prove what is about their Golden Boy is reckless and in deliberate disregard of the truth. If its really libel, they SHOULD sue. On the other hand, if even an iota of the charges have some factual basis, they would have been better off ignoring the whole thing...

To clarify, I meant that Edwards would be VICE President. My mistake.
