Well in what? In a directory of mosques around the world? Need more info on this to seem "damning"

Anyway, by their style of beards, they're severe Wahhabs or Deobonds I bet.

So....if we hadn't gone into Iraq, these guys would still be on the streets? Deposing Saddam foiled a terror plot in this country??

(Don't expect the MSM to connect THOSE dots...)

A direct connection between Iraq and a New York terror plot...hmm..yeah, so big that the media will feel compelled ignore it.

Oh, please.

They're freedom fighters.

You know, like George Washington and Patrick Henry.

They're just fighting for their independence from the shackles of the imperialist american dogs.

You say Washington and Henry never targeted schools, restaurants, markets, public conveyances, and office buildings?

Harrumph!

They would have if they only had realized what an effective strategy such attacks are against COWARDS like those in SPAIN.

The media reported this morning that the Albany duo had connections with Ansar Al Islam, which they referred to as an "al Qaeda affiliate". However for some reason they didn't do the homework and see that Ansar al Islam is the affiliate co-founded by al Zarqawi in IRAQ prior to the war in Iraq.

Even the 9/11 report linked Zarqawi to Ansar al Islam.

I guess the media didn't get the memo.

Yassin Muhhiddin Aref's (search) name, telephone number and address were found by U.S. troops last summer in an address book left behind in a vacated terrorist training camp, a U.S. official told FOX News. The book also contained the title given to Aref by Ansar al-Islam (search), the terrorist group running the camp: "the commander."

According to the 'Rats, there is no terrorist link to Iraq!

Hey, want to hear something funny? The name of the mosque, "Masjid As-Salam", means "House of Peace". The worshippers at the "House of Peace" were trying to get shoulder fired missiles so they could murder a few thousand people. Just about a speaceful as it gets.

According to Stephen F. Hayes book, The Connection, Ansar al Islam was founded in northern Iraq on Sept. 1, 2001 (that’s ten days prior to 9/11 for those in the media). Senior al Qaeda operative Abu Zubaydah told interrogators that bin Ladin provided Ansar al Islam’s start-up money. The co-founders include al Zarqawi (Iraqi “insurgent” for those in the media, filthy savage who beheaded Paul Johnson for all FReepers) and Abu Wael an Iraqi lawyer who trained and worked for Saddam’s intelligence services as an “outreach coordinator” with radical Islamic groups.

In other words, Iraq was a safe-harbor for terrorists groups prior to the Iraq war and even prior to 911.

Yes, but hasn't the argument always been that Saddam did not control northern Iraq, and thus we can't hold him responsible for the fact that the terrorists were there?

Do you think the liberals will change their tune now?

Of course the real answer is that they'll simply ignore the connection rather than disputing it.

Abu Wael, cofounder of Answar al Islam, is married to the cousin of Saddam's Vice President Izzat Ibrahim al-Durri.

In other words, one of the founder's of this al Qaeda affiliate was a member of Saddam's inner circle.

Peace means different things to different people.

From what I've read on terror/motives among radical Islam groups is that they strike out with acts of terrorism to then get huge increases in donations and moneys funnelled to them.

The bigger the catastrophe, the higher the donation potential. Sick isn't it?

As far as peace is defined, Islam radicals claim it is when the world submits to Islam. So yes by that standard they are working towards their brand of peace.

Kind of like Jehova Witnesses on PCP with marching orders from the devil.

This was a money laundering sting according to the Criminal Complaint. Albeit they thought they were helping a fellow jihaddist move SAMs and hide the money, these two dirtbags were not buying them.

Very interesting reading below.

This is HUGE, because it is a concept very easily explainable to the average person very quickly.

It goes like this. "You know the guys they caught the other day? They wanted to buy shoulder launch missiles to shoot down airplanes in America, and we found out about them in camps we captured in Iraq. Had we not invaded, we'd never have found out about them. You still think Iraq had nothing to do with fighting terrorism?"
