Junior Dems going after FreeRepublic and Swift Boat Veterans
Political Animal/Media Matters ^ | 8/6/04 | Kevin Drum, various

FReeper and co-author of 'Unfit for Command' Jerome R. Corsi, PhD is being attacked on WashingtonMonthly and MediaMatters.

From WashingtonMonthly:

LUNATICS?....A few misguided souls took issue with my cavalier dismissal of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth as "certifiable lunatics" yesterday. If you're one of them, I have two words for you: click here.

It turns out I was being too kind....

That leads to this MediaMatters page:

While much has been written about the identity and history of John E. O'Neill -- one of the authors of the forthcoming Regnery book Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry (whose links in the GOP go back to his days as "protégé of Nixon-era dirty trickster Charles Colson") -- little has been said about his co-author, Jerome R. Corsi, PhD.

That's followed by a list of his posts on FR, with links. The only one I looked at was taken out of context.

And, they even go into his pet names for our favorite celebrities, such as "Little Katie Communist". And?

they want a fight its time to expose them for the low life they are.

We shouldn't have to, they have done it themselves. The Clinton's exposed themselves for the lowlifes they are, and the public is supposed to adore them. Kerry and his unreal wife have done the same many times now, yet he is running neck and neck with Bush. I don't know what it takes anymore for the people in this country to reject unfit politicians like this! I never thought someone who sided with Jane Fonda about this country would EVER be considered for President.

I noticed the report that Kerry said on a PBS interview that he's get the troops out of Iraq in a year. That is an incredibly stupid comment for someone who allegedly knows his history and approaches questions in a nuanced manner.

Anyone who's cracked a competent history of WW II knows that the process of establishing stable, democratic governments in Japan and Germany after that war took four years in each nation. At that point, major numbers of American troops could and were withdrawn.

Only a total dummy would assert that the modernization of Iraq is an easier process than the same in Japan and Germany then. So, either Kerry is a dummy (which I do not believe, based on personal experience), or he is a geopolitical moron (which seems to be the case), to make this "one-year" claim.

I agree. And I think he knows this will just embolden the enemy but HE DOESN'T CARE. Anything for a couple of votes.

Or, based on my observations from afar, the "one year" line was simply the money shot in that day's pandering script, to be promptly flushed down the memory hole when it became inconvenient to have it associated with him.

Lady Hon. LOL. Antifreeping became so mean and ugly I guess I can understand a little why the newer un-afers don't want to get caught posting there. Most probably don't want their friends to know that they are involved in such filthy behavior, and especially involved with people who file complaints against FR with everyone under the sun, or work with the opposition to help get Kerry elected because they hate FR *that much*. There are some who don't seem to think it matters, that it's all giggles and fun--and maybe it doesn't matter--but then why do they hide their FR identities? Wish I understood. :: shrug ::

It's shabby behavior to say the least. As President Bush said, 'You're either with us, or against us.' If it works for him, it works for me.

Correct. Kerry wanted "All vietnam All the time" now he's got it. He copied President Bush (no surprise) and told us to "bring it on!" So we did.

Seems every time I "click on" to some article/web-site purporting to rebut the Swift Boat Vets, it ultimately takes me to Joe Conason and "Salon"...what's that all about?

That is about a once popular website that fell apart in 2000 desperately trying to get its Left Wing credability back. Don't worry, no one is reading it.

It is called public education. Personally living through the Clintons administration was quite instructive to the method of operation .... lies and deception followed with lying accusations.

No problem. I only found the posts on bartcop because someone earlier posted the rant about Corsi and I followed the link to mediamatters and then bartcop, and found the posts from him there. I don't really know much about the bartcop site, never really followed anything to do with it before. It seemed to lean way left.

The unfortunate truth is that too many peoples' 'reality' is whatever the media want it to be. People believe what they read and hear, especially if they hear it over and over and over.

Today John Kerry said he would have us out of Iraq in a year.

Sooner than that. They didn't call it Operation RAW for nothing in his glory days.

Interesting thread here, folks! Check it out.

Thanks for the ping here, Brian.

If Kerry wasn't making those 16 weeks the centerpiece of his campaign ("I'm John Kerry reporting for duty"), I wouldn't give a rats arse. But HE is the one making himself out to be some war hero - which he's NOT! He's just the opposite, and the biggest LIAR I think I've ever seen. I support these SwiftVets. I'm sure the DemocRATS will play this as part of the VRWC at play again. Bush is smartly staying out of it so far, not mentioning Kerry's service in his speeches (none I've heard of, anyway). But Kerry NEEDS TO BE EXPOSED for what he is:

My thanks to Traumer, Arrowhead1952 and Conspiracy Guy for the concept of this pic
