Yes, it's an abortion
Herald Sun ^ | 8th August 2004 | Andrew Bolt

THERE are some experts who don't want you to know what really goes on in an abortion clinic.

You see, you may get the wrong idea. Which is, in fact, the right idea, but wrong if you have it.

So the Australian Medical Association boss, Dr Bill Glasson, was apoplectic when he heard what the ABC would screen at 10.15 tonight.

My Foetus is a documentary shot by the then-pregnant Julia Black, daughter of the founder of Marie Stopes International, a big British chain of abortion clinics.

Black had an abortion at 21, and has long supported a woman's "right" to abortion.

She still clutches to that view, even after making this documentary and showing what happens when a fetus is sucked out at four weeks, looking just like a baby in miniature.

Mind you, her faith was shaken, not least when a doctor described what it was like for him to kill an older fetus in the womb, and then dismember it so it could be pulled out, limb by small limb.

But Glasson, the doctors' union boss, thinks all this should be kept secret. "It's unnecessary," he raged. "Voyeurism at its worst."

He added: "I really wonder what they're trying to achieve here . . . The fact that we now have to see a baby being sucked out at the time of abortion achieves very little, so I would be very much against it. I think that society will be sickened by it."

I agree. We will be sickened. Horrified, even. But isn't that exactly why we need to see this film?

Glasson and others who condemn it seem concerned that if we for once do see what we allow abortionists to do to a fetus, and what that fetus looks like as it is killed, our support for this business would plummet. Late-term abortions in particular might be seen for what they are -- plain murder. Perhaps that is why we have never before been shown such things on television. It is certainly why pro-abortion lobbyists talk only about a "woman's right to choose", and never about the fetus they may choose to kill, for sound reasons or flippant.

But what kind of moral cowardice are people such as Glasson promoting? Is it truly moral for us to fund up to 100,000 abortions a year without being allowed to see what we are assisting?

Argue the rights to abortion all you like, and even now I argue with myself about it. But if we won't admit - or let others see - what we are really doing with abortions, we are guilty of a monstrous deceit.

And it is only because we do not see that we allow abortions such as the following: In Darwin, a 22-week-old fetus - a girl - was aborted, still alive, and left to die in a steel dish. That took 80 minutes, and nurses later told a coroner they could hear her cry and cry, but no one held or helped her.

In Melbourne, such "mistakes" don't happen. Instead, a baby only two weeks from birth was killed in the womb and aborted because its mother was terrified it had dwarfism.

In Queensland, Dr David Grundmann kills fetuses about 20 weeks old and sometimes even 28 weeks - an age at which they can be saved if born - by a technique he once described on the ABC.

"(It's) essentially a breech delivery where the fetus is delivered feet first and when the head of the fetus is brought down into the top of the cervical canal, it is decompressed with a puncturing instrument so that it fits through the cervical opening."

Translation: The baby is stabbed in the head, which is then squashed.

Oh, yes. It is horrible to read. How disgusting of me to mention all this. But isn't it also horrible and disgusting that we permit and pay for precisely such abortions?

Why do we? Because, I suspect, we do not see, and are not shown, what abortion is. Tonight we will be shown - the suctioning, if not the stabbing and dismembering.

If you cannot bear to even watch, ask why you can still bear to allow such things to be done.

At the very least I hope they have hellacious nightmares for the rest of their lives.

Technology will solve the abortion problem. As more and more women see what is kicking around inside them they will see the truth. Isn't computer enhanced ultrasound just neat?

Fighting a loosing battle ___AT THIS TIME___ with the media is a looser.

After a few more years, technology will have educated people to the truth and abortion will fade away as an issue. Abortion will simply ban itself.

I will always be haunted by a film of a forced abortion done to a Chinese rural woman who was over the limit. (I can't remember if it was her 2nd or 3rd).

Our social studies teacher showed it to us in high school. I'm glad he did but with me it was like 'preaching to the choir'.

She was at least 5 or 6 months along by that point. Very upset, of course. That was the worst part. They didn't show the actual abortion, just her laying on the stretcher waiting. Just the thought of someone killing my baby would be enough to send me over the edge. By that far along the baby has been kicking for quite some time and one grows rather attached.

I'm stunned.
They called "it" a baby.

Abortion is the vilest murder possible. The slaughter of innocents made palpable by the self serving lie that the baby is not a baby but a collection of tissue, a "Choice". When the Supreme Court ruled that Roe V. Wade made abortion legal and a choice, we truly turned our back on God. The last time we did that was Dred Scott.

While the program mentioned is not available in the US at this time you can see a very powerful one on the subject from a Pro-Life and Christian perspective. It is on-line and only 9 minutes long. See below.

Introduction to video:

"The video you are about to see, unmasks the terrible truth that abortion is an act of violence which kills a baby. And the violence is spreading. As happened to black civil right activists in the 1960s, peaceful pro-life demonstrators are now routinely being savaged by police attacks. If you think that's just inflammatory rhetoric, the next 6 minutes may change your mind.

Some of the children we'll show you represent typical nine and ten week abortions. Because abortions are never committed prior to the sixth week of pregnancy, every child abortion kills is already so fully formed that her heart's beating and her brain’s producing brain wave activity. Many of the babies you'll see however range in age through the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Most were taken from garbage bags, removed from a dumpster behind an abortion clinic in Houston, Texas. They've been included to emphasize the sickening fact that the vast majority of all abortions are committed simply as a means of birth control.

We also want you to understand that convenience abortion is legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

Some might ask why a video of this sort should even be necessary. The answer can be found in the gruesome films, used to teach about a Nazi holocaust against the Jews. Teachers don't show bloody World War II footage to manipulate students emotionally. They use it because the Nazi death camps represented an evil so inexpressible that lectures alone could never adequately describe it. The abortion holocaust is no different. Everyone instinctively knows that abortion is evil, but many mistakenly believe it's often the lesser of two evils. Until you've seen the pictures we're about to show you, you can't begin to know how evil it actually is.

By making this video short and eliminating the narration, we've structured the presentation to allow you to avoid its contents by simply looking away. But we hope you'll watch, because ignorance sustained by denial is crippling this nation's response to abortion, and when somethings so horrifying we can't stand to look at it, perhaps we shouldn't be tolerating it."

END Introduction to video TRANSCRIPT

Freepers,

I ask everyone to please forward this to everyone you know on both sides of the battle, as it has a major impact on the majority of those who see it. Our country is desperately in need of a major wake up call and I believe this can help if seen by large enough numbers.

This is not an easy video to watch; but after seeing it I quickly realized how necessary it was to watch, because no matter how well I thought I “understood”, seeing it gave a perspective that mere words could “never adequately describe”. To watch, click Abortion Videos then the link to Hard Truth . It is perhaps the most powerful film ever produced on abortion.

The video is produced by Gregg Cunningham with the Center For Bio-Ethical Reform. Additionally go to http://www.priestsforlife.org/resources/abortionimages/index.htm , and see the horrible reality of abortion via color photographs.

I also highly recommend reading Abortion: the Silent Holocaust. It was written by Fr. John Powell, S.J. (Click on “abortion: books” then scroll.) I believe it is one of the most important books on the subject ever written. This book has overwhelming importance for readers from high-school age onward, as well as adult study. The author speaks directly to the reader as few writers can. He takes you along his personal journeys from his studies in Germany and tour of the death camp in Dachau, through his work in the pro-life movement.

No abortions are allowed to be shown on TV. Period.

It doesn't matter that all other procedures are. Period.

Ask Matt Drudge. He was fired by FOX News, of all people, for wanting to show not an abortion, but an in womb operation to save a fetus' life.

He wanted to show a picture of the fetus' hand reaching out and grasping the finger of the doctor performing the operation. (Can someone please post that beautiful picture?)

No dice. He was fired. Period. No appeals. Very little discussion except a couple of threads on FR at the time.

So that is the rule: No Fetuses on TV. Period.

(Unless it's a medical documentary about fetal development created by Liberals, of course, in which case, it's not a fetus, but a baby.)

To Matt Drudge: I've always admired you for your courage, at least.

IN ORDER TO CHANGE AND REBUILD AN ENTIRE CULTURE, WE MUST FOCUS ON THE CHILDREN AND TEACH THEM.

How many students have heard of Samuel Armas? Telling his story would be another example of how to impress students with the truth that the unborn are just as human as we are. Samuel was operated on at 21-weeks gestation in utero for a spinal cord defect. Pictures of his hand grasping the surgeons are among the most powerful and unforgettable in recent years. He was born on Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999 weighing 5 lbs 11 oz. Samuel's mom, Julie later wrote, “He was born at 36 weeks but came into the world screaming his head off! He did not have to spend any time in a neonatal unit and came home with us on Monday, Dec. 6.”

The Armas story and his pictures should be part of this program in every grade from at least sixth and repeated annually through to twelfth. Students will have a personal story of “Life Before Birth” that simply cannot be denied or forgotten.

Above: Samuel Armas summer of 2003 at 3 1/2 years old.

THE MISSING KEY OF THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT

and i was stunned and traumatized by a photo of the dead and still bloody corpse of a woman who tried to self abort prior to the legalization of abortion. she was on the floor, blood seeping from her body.

i will never forget it and will always believe that a woman is entitled to a safe medical abortion.

BTW--That picture (8 x 11) and the accompanying story is in a matted and gold framed display hanging in the back of my parents Parish Church.

The Pastor was given a poor quality photocopy from a newspaper clipping and asked my dad what he thought about putting it on the bulletin board. My dad asked if I could do better.

I received permission to use the image for educational purposes from the copyright holder, http://www.michaelclancy.com/index.html he's happy to oblige all pro-lifers.

He sent me a hi-rez computer copy which I printed out & then printed the story on heavy stock parchment.

I brought these to a friend who owns a small gallery.
She's a wonderful Pro-Life Christian Lady who fell in love with the story and idea for Church. The best double Mat and beautiful gold frame--at no charge. LOL Her husband said my bill is to "go make another copy for me so I can frame another one for another Church!" That was great.

It's been up for about 3 years, even w a new Pastor.

So because you saw the negative side effects of a woman murdering her own child you think all women should be free to have a professional murder their children for them?

"safe medical abortion."

Do you hear yourself? Abortion is not safe-- the result is one dead baby and one wounded Mother. "Abortion kills twice. It kills
the body of the baby and it kills the conscience of the
mother." Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters
of its victims are women: Half the babies and all the mothers." Mother Teresa of Calcutta -

My God, this is the single most horrible and barabaric act I have ever read about. The nurses and doctors should be locked up for the rest of their lives, and consider themselves fortunate.

Are you serious? You can't be. There will always be desperate people doing desperate things, but you can't possibly think, as a reasonable person I will assume, that this is not murder. It is just so profoundly simple to see. I will pray that you see the light.

If they can show this in Britian where the press is practically a socialist advertisment, and in Australia where they have deprived people of their self defense rights, you would think there would be a way to get it on the TV here.

Do they have more lax standards as far as violence goes? I mean, are they more likely to show a brutal act on the news than we are?
