My post minutes ago from another thread.

I just submitted my service dates, locations, rate and serial number to their website in the hopes of joining the effort in a more forceful way even tho' I left the month before F-ing got there. The only reason I'm not sure I can add my name to the letter/list is that I was just a back-up boat engineer and not regular crew.

As for the question, I feel we should keep on pushing the issue come "Hell or high water" ! I believe that the Dubya people will verbally distance themselves from the ads but inwardly cheer to Heaven above!!

Don't forget that Rassmann was supposedly sitting on the edge of the boat eating a chocolate chip cookie when the mine exploded. What a bizarre tale!

I also find it strange that a James Rassmann made a $1000 contribution to the Kerry campaign at the beginning of this year, right after he registered as a Democrat after years of being a Republican. During those years, he evidently never saw fit to contribute before. (Per opensecrets.org., going back 10 to 15 years.)

How many times did Kerry get hit in the butt
with exploding rice kernels? Is the casualty report
for ph#3, on the internet? (I've seen the report for
ph#2).
What exactly was the nature of Kerry's wounds for ph#3,
with internet cites, if possible.

Kerry’s FITREPs are awash in dings, and some of the reports border on the adverse, particularly his combat FITREPs. The FITREPs convey significant performance problems and suggest problems in conduct, so much so that it is surprising that the campaign chose to release them. This may suggest that the FITREPs held from public view are even more adverse.

In what would customarily be an opportunity for a glowing “swan song” FITREP, the Commanding Officer of USS Gridley (DLG-21) tacitly blasts Kerry on his departure for Swift Boat duty by ranking him significantly below the norm in desirability for virtually every Navy assignment possible -– command, staff, whatever. He is a ship handler who is dinged in ship handling. He is in line for command, but his CO doesn’t want him near the bridge. He is slammed in all performance areas –- most notably and significantly in initiative and reliability. The “nice” narrative emphasizes performance in collateral duties, but in the grades and marks, the CO is telling the selection board and detailer loud and clear that this officer is lazy, unreliable and not suited for command. 3 SEP 68 (W.E. They are invented. It's the broader use of the term - push-poll. Not pushing people individually on the phone, but by coverage of ginned up numbers made to order.

And when Kerry loses, probably in a landslide, this November then the pollsters and their clients will say a) Bush stole the election and/or b) people all changed their mind not even the day before the election, but right when they enterred the polling booths. Dewey WINS! They'll insist upon it up to election day, and probably afterward. It'll be in all the papers, just like 2000. And they'll have another four years to fume about how they failed to steal the election as Hillary becomes the anybody-but Dem candidate.

I have a new theory about the Kerry campaign: Part of Kerry's insecurity and narcissism is such that he can never be seen to be less than top dog. This applies to his staff as well. I've read stories that he would do things like telling his staff he was going to vote one way on a bill, then going in and voting the other.

So... I think he is loathe to take advice from anyone. So these blunders that we are seeing are Kerry's and Kerry's alone. To the extent that he does what his handlers say he probably does better. But this inability to let anyone else share in the decision making process may wind up being his downfall.
