Skip to comments.Live thread: Nightline doing segment on swift vets!

Live! Nightline is doing a story on the Kerry Vietnam controversy. I notice the correspondent is Jake Tapper, formerly a liberal reporter for Salon. We'll see...
Kerry talking points top to bottom.
I am watching it now but I expect an attack. right now they are talking about Bush attacking McCain last election.
Expect a whitewash from Howdy Doody.
Absolutely. This report could have come directly from Kerry/Edwards04.
Outrageous.... this is so nuts, we have a Soviet media. This is deeply shameful.
Well, they're investigating all right; investigating WHO put the ad out.
And he personally waded ashore some tropical island and was heard mumbling something about how he would return.
There's rumor Kerry saved Grant and rode with Sherman. Rumors that he burned Atlanta are being denied, but he did brag about it for years.
Anyone who challenges Kerry's heroic acts is a right wing nut. The press accepts every word, every deed, every story, and refuses to look into the matter. When Kerry speaks, the press stands and cheers. When Kerry lies they look away, but keep him safe.
Tapper mentioned Naval docs back up Kerry's version, but didn't mention that he hasn't made his full record public.
WHAT CHANNEL IS NIGHTLINE?
At least Tapper wiped Kerry's spunk from his chin before appearing on camera.
Thanks .. so far it looks like a hit piece at the Vets and Bush
This is disgusting. The lies continue. Now trying to claim that the money links them to Bush. Tapper is a piece of crap. I hate the liberal media.
Damn right-wing media.
Don't worry Senator, it's in the bag.
IT's on ABC
No mention of the "Christmas in Cambodia" lie that was all over the blogs today.
My husband hates Kerry and always has because of Kerry's labeling of all these Viet Nam veterans as murderers, rapists, babykillers, etc. He never forgot. all this is stirring up bad memories for lots of Vets but it's making them determined to make sure Kerry is never elected President.
Bet they're wishing Bush had testified before congress that he committed war crimes/atrocities in Viet. Why isn't Kerry being tried by World Court? There is no statute of limitations on this. Maybe yje DNC will have him indicted after Nov. ??? Hee Hee
I am in total awe. The notion that Vietnam Vets shouldn't oppose him is loony. Of course, they're opposing him. I can't stand the Soviet media and the disgraceful Kerry-Edwards campaign.
This is nothing more than a preemptive assault on the Book and in Bush.
John McCain should probably mention the extraordinary amount of Soros money that is hijacking the whole process.
McCain is sucha tool of the Left.
This whole thing is shockingly biased.
I am in total awe.
Another hit piece masked as being objective. The go into great detail about the contributions and "sinister" links to the GOP, but they barely mention the contributors to the anti-Bush 527 groups. They make a big deal out of $500,000 for the Swifties and yet don't mention the many millions supporting MoveOn.org and ACT.
You got that right!
Nightline is a dinosaur. Remember the good thing is that the story is still being reported. Even if the socialist media tries to discredit the swiftvets, some diehard Rat supporters will go to the website and maybe reality will knock them upside the head. The swiftvets ad is very powerful and it hits home.
Is it any worse than John Stewart's take on it? As usual the Liberals blame the source and the media whores do as their told. Pathetic.
Did you all know that Kerry was in Viet Nam? Nightline just brought it up.
Today's trivia: Jake Tapper dated Monica.
Whoever was defending Tapper's objectivity earlier today should re-examine his/her beliefs.
Yup, ABC is freakishly biased.
I thought Tapper was Monica
The Kerry campaign (and their media pals) are trying hard to keep this on the level of "he said/he said." Forget that stuff. Look at the contradictions in his own statements. You're right the lib media is a joke.
Arrivals at the SwiftVets contribution page just shot up. What did they do?
Agree about McCain as though he speaks for all veterans. The fact is that vets support Bush 58% to 35%.
That is great and so effing true.
Are the people who support the "Big Three" that stupid? The frustration continues to mount up in preparation for a November 2 explosion of common sense...
Why don't they point out that those Keyes guys are on his payroll?
Kerry needs to be brought up on charges of treason.
What happened to Kerry's pronounced Brahman accent so prominent in his congressional testimony tapes??? Did it go the way of his fluent French????
Are the swiftboat people on the show or are they allowed to speak?
You all are surprised that this was going to be a slanted piece in favor of Kerry. I wasn't when I saw who was the reporter doing the piece and refused to watch it. Here's what I posted this afternoon on Traper from the ABC website.

Media bastards. Didn't say jack when Bush's Guard service was attacked. Turned the other cheek when Moron made his anti-Bush propaganda movie. Now a group of honorable men exercises their 1st Amendment rights and the media goes into convulsions. Oh the horror, the horror....
I thought it was Alfred E. Neumann.
Hilarious. They're interviewing "random" vets about their feelings towards Kerry, giving the impression there is an even split. All the polls show vets support Bush approx. 60%-40%
