Hospital executives and immigrant rights groups said the questioning will deter undocumented immigrants from seeking hospital care when they need it, and some hospitals said administrative costs related to compliance might cost them more than they would receive in federal aid.

So let me get this straight . . . First they complained that these hospitals were being forced to bear the enormous cost of providing care to illegal immigrants, and now they're saying they don't want to find out how many of these patients are illegal immigrants?

How did they know that there were so many illegal immigrants using their hospitals in the first place???
