Brit Hume and Lt Col Bill Cowan Supporting Switfee Story
Fox News

Posted on 08/10/2004 3:32:18 PM PDT by what's up

Hume looks to be going after the story. Asking ALL the right questions.

Basically the main topic was whether the other Swift Boat people would have been considered as "serving" with John Kerry.

Lt Col Bill Cowan who served on a Swift Boat said "Absolutely!" In FACT, someone on another boat might be able to BETTER see what was going on on Kerry's boat than the men on the boat themselves because they have a panoramic view of the scene.

With the Olympics coming up in a couple of days, I fear this story will be buried as fast and thoroughly as the Sandy Berger one was with the Dem convention.

The Marines are a branch of the Navy.

Ssshhh. They don't like to be reminded of that. :=)

Cowan indeed did a wonderful job. He did not say "I want to associate myself with their claims" but by the time the interview was over, he had bolster each and every claim.

Isn't the Navy the Transport wing of the USMC?

These pictures are very effective, but the should be rescanned to make them bigger.

I served in the 164th CAG (Army) out of Can Tho which spported the entire Mekong region with insertion and retrieval, recon, air support, resupply, medavac, etc. We worked closely with the Swift Boats on many occasions. Having Marines on the boats for any shore activities was standard practice. This further undermines Kerry's story of going ashore to dispatch the wounded VC. (Only Captain Kirk left the bridge for such missions)

Yes he is. You wouldn't have thought that last week when FNC bashers came out of the woodwork and slammed just about EVERYONE on Fox. Personally, if it weren't for Fox I would have already slit my wrist.

LOL!

I absolutely agree with Cowan's point about his fellow officers and former chain of command being the best source as to his performance. That would be true for the Army as well. Certainly a better source than green, low-ranking sailors who only saw Kerry for a couple of months. Their view of him probably would have a lot to do with what kind of discipline he enforced.

Brit Hume always gets invited to White House functions. He also went sky diving with GHBush. I like him. He's trying to help out GW without looking biased.

Reason the Burglar story fizzled was due to the chicken pubs inability to press charges against him to keep the story alive in the eyes of Americans....:(
Due to the RAT convention they were trying to ONCE again(this is getting old)(REAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL STALE)to play nice! I believe, in the future because of the media's bias, the pubs are going to have to go around the pressWHORES and start buying some air time. This will be the only way to get our SIDE of the story out!

Fox deserved to be slammed. Everyone but Hannity reviewed this story initially through the lens of politics rather than as an opportunity to bring the American people the Truth.

I've always liked Brit, but he disappointed me last week. He disappointed a number of people that wrote E-mails in defense of these Vets to Fox. That could be partial reason why Fox is changing its tune on this story.

Kerry had made a Cambodia claim just last year and it is even on his website.

Great link.

"Also asked about the Vietnam thing. Cowan said there's NO WAY Kerry was in Cambodia on a Swift Boat. Cowan looks 100% in Swiftee's corner."

So is Sean Hannity. Better watch H&C tonight, John O'Neill will be on the shut Colmes up! Alan Colmes was talking about how dispicable the swiftboat vets are for lying about John Kerry.

Last night O'Reilly kept saying to one of the swiftboat vets "I'm only trying to be fair", I only want to be "fair" here. This gentleman discussed Kerry's lies about being in Cambodia. O'reilly asked "well, is this all that important?" Sheesh.........Well, yeah Bill, it's important!

We need to tell O'Reilly that trying too hard to be "fair" is holding up the truth to be told. O'Reilly is really scared about being tagged as a supporter of these guys. In essence, his attempts at fairness are forcing him to protect Kerry, which means to me that he's chosen his side.

I'm really P-S-ED at O'Reilly!

Grea visual. You should send them to Hume, Hannity, O'Reilly, et al. Maybe they will then understand what is meant by operating together. The SBVFT should carry blown up pictures like these when they are interviewed on TV. We are now a visual culture. Nothing is real until you have a picture or video of it.
