During his speech at Portland's downtown Waterfront park today, John Kerry mentioned stem-cell research, but did not mention Alzheimers. Apparently stung by First Lady Laura Bush who pointed out that a cure for Alzheimers is not "around the corner" as claimed by stem cell supporters, Kerry said "I will support stem cell research so we can sure diseases like diabetes, Parkinsons, and other diseases".
By omitting a mention of Alzheimers, Kerry has backtracked (flip-flopped?) from Ron Reagan's photo-op during the DNC convention, which was prompted by his claim of a pending cure for Alzheimers disease using embryonic stem cells.
Kerry was joined at the rally by Jon Bon Jovi, Leonardo DeCaprio, Teresa Heinz-Kerry, Gov. Ted Kulongski and other Oregon lawmakers.
John F*ckin' will retreat when pressed. A killer rabbit, he ain't.
If true, I salute a stand-up move by the Kerry campaign. Probably the first and last time I will compliment them.
Maybe it wasn't seared -- SEARED -- into his memory.
Or maybe stem cell research has nothing to do with Alzheimers
NAW- He is getting Alzheimer's himself, which is why his stories change all the time. Hoisted on his own petard??
I think this article is reading into things too much. I would think he just missed the word.
No. Everything is calculated and poll tested with Effin Lurchy.
Maybe he just forgot to mention Alzheimers. . .
He forgot about it.
I think that's how it starts, with little things like forgetting a word or two, next you can't remember where you were on Christmas eve of 1968. then soon you start to have delusions and think that maybe you could be the President of the United States. The whole thing is very sad.
