James Estrin/The New York Times
Casa Del Sol, a squatters building in Mott Haven, will house many protestors during the Republican National Convention.

Hopefully Mayor Bloomburg will take the same actions Mayor Dailey did in 1968!

If this thing goes down the way I think it will with these protesters (they will riot). A whole lot of them will be getting free accommodations in Rikers Island.

"Unlike the delegates and journalists coming to New York, protesters are being offered no hotel rooms, no free Broadway shows and no massages."

I suggest Michael Brick take the protestors to see a free Broadway show. And that he pay for it.

What a Richard Crainium.

I onced leased an apartment that had an old bathtub in it that was encased in wood. It looked awful. When I pulled the wood away from the tub, thinking anything would look better than the way it did, I revealed a rather extraordinary bathtub. The porcelain was not chipped and after a thorough cleaning had only small and minor discolorations.

The cast iron outside base had an interesting texture to it. Might have been a floret design. After painting it a glossy jet black it seemed to move as you walked toward it.

The biggest surprise where the feet. All the feet were these large claws. I'm not sure what kind but they were, but they were formidable looking. I painted them gold. I then lighted the tub area from above, to get the subtle reflection I wanted of the bottom of the tub, in the off white tiling off the floor.

The result was a rather spectacular looking tub. I wonder if they will do something like that with their tub.
