The reported sighting of the suspected Al Qaeda operative in the Internet cafe was hard to verify. It was also hard to dismiss.
A witness said she saw Adnan el Shukrijumah, a Saudi native on the FBI (news - web sites)'s terrorist watch list, in the cafe in this Central American capital in May. A photo of Shukrijumah, whose name was linked to the recent terrorism alert in New York, also was identified by the cafe owner, who said the suspect and two companions spoke little Spanish.
This week, the FBI and U.S. consular officials along the Mexico border put out an alert asking people to be on the lookout for Shukrijumah trying to enter U.S. territory.
The possible sighting, which Honduran and U.S. authorities investigated, is one of several alerts and potential threats in recent months that have added to jitters about the possibility of a terrorist attack on the U.S. or its interests from beyond its porous southern border.

I'm not a "one issue" voter, but this is my top issue, especially in the post 9/11 world we live in. We may not be able to stop everyone, but can't we make it a bit more of a challenge to cross our borders?
It's not just terrorists that we have to worry about (isn't that enough?!?!). Illegal immigration has adversly affected our work force and our schools and has increased the gang population and control of our prison system, as well as in our cities and small towns.
Notice to our public servants: Get some cajones and Stop This Madness!!!

If an "OTM" that came over the Mexican border engages in a terror attack, GWB has a lot of 'splaing to do... He has virtually ignored the border and immigration laws since he's been in office, until now with November so close...
Yet even as of Wednesday the border is just as open ---- here's a story where they were hauling bales of pot over the border --- only because they dumped them in some woman's lawn did they get discovered. This isn't some remote out-in-the-desert border area but right in town and it's nothing for these people to get over.
