Eve Ensler takes her act to New York. Is this what they mean by "swing voters?"
The Rush Limbaugh Show/news item read on his show | August 19, 2004 | Gerard J. Perry Jr.

Alright, I'm not even sure how to go about posting this baby, especially considering the delicate nature of the subject matter. So, I'll attempt to tread as lightly as possible, without offending anyone's sensibilities and hopefully, without incurring the wrath of the omnipotent Admin Moderators.

Earlier today, I was listening Rush's program, when I heard him read an item about Eve Ensler's most recent effort to energize the supposedly disenfranchised women's vote.

She hopes to do this by staging yet another "V Day" celebration, on this occasion, one specifically tailored to increase voter turnout among single, urban, putatively liberal woman who would otherwise not participate in the upcoming presidential election.

Of course, "Hanoi" Jane Fonda is serving as Ms. Ensler's field commander-pardon the language, but that's the only analogy that immediately springs to mind-in this little endeavor and she has gathered together a veritable galaxy of clueless B-list celebrities to join in the cause.

I'm curious as to what you folks think about this little spectacle.

Will John Kerry be swept into office on a "V" shaped tide? Or, will the best efforts of dimwitted liberal playwrights/artists fall on deaf ears?

Let the debate begin!

No, this is not the "V" that focuses on 'Dick' Gephardt's reptilian, alien cousins.

It is the "V" specifically designed by a 60s retread, who goes by the name of Eve Ensler.

Man that play was trash, it goes over well with young naive girls though who like to think they're progressive.

Yeah, that's about the long and short of it.

I actually read the play, which I didn't find too enlightening.

There was one humorous scene, but for the most part, it was simply a regurgitation of all the liberal, feminist pablum that we've come to expect from people with degrees in essentially meaningless fields, such as Gender Studies.

This kind of thing will be as helpful to Kerry's campaign as Whoopie Goldberg's celebration of the same organ during her pro-Kerry performances.

I don't know why Ensler thinks 'the V voters' matter.
Kinda like Bubba Clinton's continued attempts to seem relevant.

"Will John Kerry be swept into office on a "V" shaped tide?"

Why not? He appears to have a "V" of his own.

Thank you Missy. Our department can really use a few more of those fancy gold badges. We've been down on our luck lately.

Totally unrelated.

CITIBANK AND THE DEAD

Motto: Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die.........

This is just so priceless....and so easy to see happening, customer service

being what it is....

My Aunt died this past January. Citi Bank billed her for February and March

for their monthly service charge on her credit card, and then added late fees

and interest on the monthly charge...the balance had been $0.00... now was

somewhere around $60.00)

I placed the following phone call to CitiBank:

Me: "I am calling to tell you that she died in January."

CitiBank: "The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply."

Me: "Maybe, you should turn it over to collections..."

CitiBank: "Since it is 2 months past due, it already has been."

Me: "So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?"

CitiBank: "Either report her account to the frauds division, or report her to the credit bureau...maybe both!"

Me: "Do you think God will be mad at her?"

CitiBank:"...excuse me .?"

Me: "Did you just get what I was telling you.... the part about her being dead?"

CitiBank: "Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor!" (Supervisor gets on the phone)

Me: ''I'm calling to tell you, she died in January."

CitiBank: "The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply."

Me: "You mean you want to collect from her estate?"

CitiBank: ".....(stammer)" .. "Are you her lawyer?"

Me: "No, I'm her great nephew." (Lawyer info given... )

CitiBank: "Could you fax us a certificate of death?"

Me: "Sure." ( Fax number is given )

(After they get the fax. )

CitiBank: "Our system just isn't setup for death..."

Me: "Oh..."

CitiBank: "I don't know what more I can do to help..."

Me: "Well... if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her...

I suppose...don't really think she will care...."

CitiBank: "Well...the late fees and charges do still apply."

Me: "'Would you like her new billing address?"

CitiBank: "That might help."

Me: " ( Odessa Memorial Cemetery #### Hwy 129 and plot number given. )

CitiBank: "Sir, that's a cemetery!"

Me: "What do you do with dead people on your planet?!!"
