All this points to is that they know the truth is damaging, but it brings so much more attention to the matter than if they had just shut up.

Their best bets would have been to either ignore and dismiss it completely, or to agree to release all the records and then shut up about it.

Wow. This morning I had a nice talk with my kids telling them that Kerry has finally slipped over the edge and is going to crash and burn in spectaular fashion.
Between his rants about this book and the Leftist protesters rioting in NYC next week, the "undecided middle" is going to come flocking to Bush's side in droves.
Bush will win 56-58% of the vote in November.
The Kerry campaign has definitely Jumped The Shark.
