Ya know, this is just a variation on their theme of legal browbeating as a campaign tactic. Bear in mind the 'band of lawyers' the RATS intend to distribute around the country to make sure this election is not 'stolen'.

For once a DUmmy is right: This is the stupidist approach to this saga that they could take. I love it.

Interesting how they made this complaint on a Friday afternoon - the traditional time to to bury news. I guess this means they want to do it, they just don't want anyone to see them doing it.

What is really great is that the Headlines we are seeing about this action calls it a legal move against the Swifties.

BUT, the dems brought this in an attempt to draw W into the fight and wanted the Headlines to characterize this as a legal action against W.

All the news coverage so far about this today on the TV has followed the same path and has resulted in enormous coverage for the Swifties and the new ad.

Nice try, sKerry.

Hmmmm, the ads must be hurting. Of course, the one thing that Kerry WANTS is for all of this to simply go away. But these actions are exactly what will bring more attention to the issue. More people will read the book and more independents and pro-vet vote will dissolve from under Kerry.

i like it that he filed suit before the election than during the vote count as Gore did!

This is getting to be fun!

Kerry is acting as if he can't possibly back up his claims in light of the claims of the swift boat vets. It has become perfectly clear today that Kerry is in deep trouble over this. His lifetime of lies is finally being exposed.

OK --so if this is a stupid move, who is behind it? We suspect the WJC/HRC duo doesn't want Kerry in.

Someone must be telling Matthews, Davis, Carville to lose their cool to send the balance over to the other side.

So-- what gives?

If the SwiftVet ads get pulled...even briefly...the void should be filled with images of Kerry and Fonda.

She can claim they never met at the protests but she's just dropped big bucks to get Ichabod elected so there's damned sure a connection NOW.

Anyone want to join "SwiftJustice for KerryFonda"?

Question. What would happen if it could be shown that the Kerry campaign were coordinating the articles in the New York Times and the Boston Globe, essentially providing him with free unpaid advertising? I realize that could backfire with talk radio, but I'm curious.

Kerry can't believe the swifties aren't coordinating with Bush because his campaign is working with Soros et al. The swifties are against Kerry as CIC and said if he were running as a Republican, they would mount these ads.

OK--can't our side do the same thing? I'll bet there's much better evidence for "connections" with the DNC/Soros than the Swiftvets/Bush.

I went to DU. Not a single one of them had any problem with this, beyond a few saying that it would just give the swiftees more publicity.

The left has begun it's all-out attack on free speach.

Just an attempt to get the FEC to shut the Vets down?

The DUmmies have posted a flyer that is supposedly from a local Republican party office, that advertises a rally with a number of Republican groups - and the Swiftvets for Truth. Since this office is also the local BC'04 headquarters, the DUmmies are orgasmic, pointing to this as proof of collaboration.

Excuse me, I have to go shower now...

Swift Boat is driving him CRAZY!

It appears all have First Amendment Rights but conservatives. Michael Moore can write or film any lies be wants but anyon against John Kerry can not.

This should be interesting.

The New York Times on Friday reported that there is a "web of connections" between the Swift Boat group and the "Bush family, high-profile Texas political figures and President Bush (news - web sites)'s chief political aide, Karl Rove."

There's a gazillion miles of desert between a "web of connections" and actionable coordination, which is the specification of the CFR law, as I understand it with my non-lawyer brain.

I suspect we're going to find out that the coordination clause is almost totally unprovable in all cases, and effectively worthless. I mean, who wrote the law anyway? Politicians and their staffs. I rest my case. (Giggle.)

How in the hell can you do that? I guess for a "scare" tactic like the Swifties are scared of Kerry!
If Kerry and Eddie do this, then they can prove with all documents and all records that the Swifties are lying...then prove that the donor of $100,000 is working for Bush on this....Will that also mean that Soros and Move on.org have to cease??

xxxxxx heard on a radio show, the name for Kerry and Edwards:

"Smiley and the Undertaker" I love it!

The Swift Boat people are destroying him. Hehehehehehe!

Does this also mean that John Kerry has to diclose his military records? If not how can you prove they are lying?
