Julian Phillips just gave a perfect illustration of why he is many FReepers' least favorite Fox & Friends Weekend host.
In discussing the latest Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ad, in which Kerry is condemned for returning to the US and making numerous allegations of horrendous war crimes against his fellow veterans, Phillips had this to say:
"Was it wrong for Kerry to have said what he did if it's the truth?" He repeated that inanity at least once.
In his mindless defense of the Dem candidate, Phillips went further than even Kerry himself has dared. Over the course of the campaign, Kerry has acknowledged that his comments were over the top, those of a young man embittered by what he saw, blah, blah, blah. But that didn't stop Phillips from defending Kerry's slanders by suggesting that they were truthful.
I never could stand the simpering Phillips. To quote Dick Cheney, it is time for him to go.
By the way, co-host Mike Jarick wassn't much better. He whined: "is is too late for John McCain to become a candidate (for President)? He wants to get off this fruitless fight over what happened in Vietnam 35 years ago and get onto the issues that matter: the fighting in Iraq, health care, etc." Barf.
Fox & Friends ping to members of Today Show ping list.
Julian is the reason I no longer watch.....he is a fool.

Subject: Relevancy Of Vietman
If the allegations in "Unfit for Command" are accurate
(and Kerry has rebutted ZERO of them), Kerry has deep character
flaws. No reasonable person will deliberately overlooks deep
character flaws when electing a president.
- Kerry may have lied to get military awards and used the
awards to advance his personal ambition. He continues to
cover up or stonewall on the facts. He has not authorized
the release of his full military records.
- Kerry either lied on Meet the Press ("I personally burned
down villages") or he is a war criminal.
- Kerry's testimony before Congress was used against our
POW's, and helped turn a country against its own soldiers.
Name and town, name and town, name and town
If the "Fairness Doctrine" is ever revived the Fox Network is innoculated by the Saturday "Fox 'n Friends".
I suppose in that case we should do all we can to make sure that everyone gets to hear what Kerry had to say in 1971. That way we can all form our own judgement.
The latest Swift Boat Veterans ad should be made into a public service announcement and played everywhere so we can hear John Kerry in his own words.
Sigh. Williams, when are you going to take your brain out of neutral?
Like I've said before, F&F weekends is a liberals wet dream. they picked the dum-b-est of the pack and gave them Sat morning. It's fair and balanced don't ya know,. The only thing the weekend edition is good for is to show just how stupid dumocrats are.
I think of Julian Phillips appears on Fox occasionally during the week - as Cici Connely in drag. The man makes my skin crawl.
I really find Phillips virtually unwatchable. It is painful to observe this effeminate, mindless, uncomfortable-in-his-own-skin guy. You just sense that, perhaps thanks to affirmative action, he has risen way past his level of competence, and is desperate to hang on.
Please omit that "of" above while I get another cup of coffee. Thanks.
F&F weekend version is always difficult to bear watching. I went ballistic at Phillips' comments. About the time I stopped raving, the bleached blond one spouted his inane bullsh*t. My wife suggested I turn them off if I felt that strongly. Great advice, and I took it. There will be no more Julian Phillips in my living room, and I intend to let Fox know in the strongest terms possible. This is affirmative action carried to it's silliest extreme.

I was thinking of Juan Williams. Gee, wonder why? :)
She aslo asserted that O'Neill lied about his campaign contributions (this is a new one on me, I think she made it up), and the only defense she could make against the allegations in Unfit for Command was that the accusors (the Swiftees) praised Kerry in the recent past. No rebuttal to the message, purely attack the messenger.
I'm watching too. Did that Dem spokesdroid just call Zell Miller an 'opportunist turncoat'? OH MY GOD. That's it, the gloves are off.
Anyway, this was the mail I just sent to F&F...
Dear F&F:
Kerry KNOWNS he is on thin ice with the FEC, but read my lips: Kerry will assert that The Republicans on the FEC have tanked his complaint when they toss it out.
Dont stop looking at this stuff and reporting new things, its actually going to get _worse_ before it gets better: If you havent read the latest entry on swiftvets.com, do so: it sounds very honest and appears accurate and doesnt sound like its amenable to refutation. But maybe it is. Look, Kerry can make _all_ this go away.
1) He executes form 180 thereby releasing his records (the press _sued_ GWB and raised a flack for months before he signed the form and then they found a couple of unaccounted for months at the end of 6 years of well-scrutinized, if uninspired, service. They have NOT tried to sue to get Kerry to give his records.).
2) He takes his supporters, the people who were on his boat and meets the guys who were on the boat next to him, plus his entire chain of command, plus John ONeill his longtime nemesis, and meets them in a public forum, with a moderator, and everybody explains everything
3) He also apologizes to all the Vietnam vets for his testimony in front of the Senate. (I was a young, idealistic and stupid kid...something)
4) He _also_ apologizes for his testimony, when asked whether there would be mass purges if we withdrew, that I think only 3 or 5 thousand might become refugees, when _millions_ were murdered in the subsequent purges of Vietnam, Laos and in the killing fields of Cambodia. I was _sick_ when I saw an excerpt of Kerry's testimony on (iirc) CSPAN.
Thats more or less it. It could be two or three days of work, and then it would be over. And then we can get down to the real question: why didnt Kerry do anything of value in his 20 years in the Senate.
Also, as a character question, go re-read the book Catch-22, a book it really does sound like Kerry is familiar with: I think he went to Vietnam as an anti-war warrior, specifically to scam the system and propel his career, just like Yossarian did.

I just e-mailed FOX, but am pretty sure it will come back as undeliverable. Have they banned me?
I agree. I have Fox on all week during the day starting at 6am as background (and watch when something interesting is reported). Sat morning the tv does not get turned on until 10am when the business block is broadcast. Those three Sat morn hosts are idiots.
this was after they discussed the dressage event at the olympics without anybody there having the slightest idea what the event is. i think that the combined i.q. of the second-string morning crew is in the double digits, or else stupid is now a programming format. alas.
Someone just slimed Sen. Miller?! Was it Rattner?
Why not question lies/actions that happened 35 years ago? Weren't the Nazi's hunted down for years and years?
Juliet Huddy just said everybody likes McCain.
One of the problems with arguing with Kerry's statements, is that in many peoples minds, his statements are what people know of Vietnam - it represents "common knowledge," while often not being attributed to him personally.
Of all the liberal apologists, Ratner takes the cake for being the most mindless, down-the-line regurgitator of the DNC talking points. She makes Eleanor Clift look positively thoughtful and balanced. Ratner is a fool who has no place on the air, other than as a convenient foil.
Before he said it.
The ambiguous nature of the ad frustrates me. Either atrocities were committed or they weren't. Either Kerry lied or he didn't.
It's a metrosexual thing.
Release all of his records!
Is it possible that he and Admiral Lehman (maybe even Sandy) have sanitized them and he is just waiting to play his ace?
This one worked for me ...
friends@foxnews.com
When Jerrick said that about McCain and then Julian said some stupid comment about both Bush & Kerry need to stop talking about this & talk about the economy, etc......
..I wanted to throw something at the TV, hoping it would connect with Julian!
ATTENTION JULIAN!...Bush is not! talking about this on his campaign. .
Kerry is!!!!!!!
Fox & Friends were turned off after that big fat lie!
(Sorry folks, I haven't had my caffeine fix this AM, and I'm a little testy!)
Ahhh Julian... Truth? The truth is that John Kerry testified The BIG LIE before the Senate in 1971. Have you no shame John Kerry? VVAW was nothing but disinformation which almost destroyed America. It ends here.
I switch our tv to a hunting channel on weekend mornings to avoid that mindless trio. My husband believes I do so because I love him so much. :-) I do.
Betcha his war records 'show up' sooner than later.
I think the emails are having an impact. The crew just referred to having received some, and it looks like Phillips is trying to cover his tracks. He just said "well, perhaps by talking about his service in Vietnam, Kerry has made it a fair issue."
But then Phillips couldn't resist falling back into his original line, adding "but the question is where does the truth end and the lies begin? And when will we get off this and get back to the issues that matter in this campaign [presumably, the need for more socialism]."
I've never seen Fox and Friends on Saturday. Guess I haven't been missing much! ;-)
"I know what you mean, I had rather watch the weather channel. I am one who thinks that the entire weedend addition of Fox and Friends are terrible."
I can't stand the weekend edition of Fox and Friends either. Mike Jerrick is a pig. Julian Phillips is well, Julian Phillips. Juliette Huddy lost my respect when she insulted a suit that Laura Bush wore while meeting Chirac.
I think it's time for all of us to email our complaints about the Sat. F&F team to Brit Hume. If you didn't know, Brit's wife is head of FoxNews' news division. We also need to remind FoxNews that WE made them what they are - the first cable news network - and WE can pull our support just as quickly.
Which one of these would you prefer, Phillips? Which one reflects well upon Kerry?!
Not sure, it was the female democrapologist who was just on.
Uh-oh. I think I've created a new word. Democrat-apologist. Democrapologist. Spewing Democrapology.
Yikes. I _HATE_ that my name is going to be associated with this word forever. But I can't not post it, inspiration comes in small doses.
They're waiting for Sandy Berger to pay a call on the DOD.
I have to believe that Brit and company know they have a serious problem on their hands with Phillips. But by the same, uh, token, they realize that getting rid of him could be touchy.
He says he witnessed and committed atrocities. And that's what's pissed off the vets. They've all been slandered. His testimony was outrageous and offensive.
All of the Dem flaks are attacking the messenger, so we can be sure that the vets' charges are true.
On Scarborough's show last night one of the vets that was "on Kerry's boat" accurately recounted the Rasmussen rescue and reconciled the apparent conflicts between Rasmussen's testimoney and that of the men on the other boats. Buchanan agreed with his statement.
When Scarborough asked Hurley, the em flak, why 200+ vets would lie, he simply ducked the question and launched into the usual Dem talking points. He's disgusting.
FnKerry is saying about the blood bath in Viet Nam by our soldiers. Is there a double standard here?
Shouldn't FnKerry be removed from DUTY??????
"Was it wrong for Kerry to have said what he did if it's the truth?" "
It was wrong because we were still at war, our soldiers and POWs were still there, and families were still waiting for them here. How disloyal and demoralizing can you be? And wearing his uniform! John Kerry should never have been elected senator, much less president!
It's too bad the other two gigglers didn't give a serious answer to the question.
Did you hear Jim Pinkerton tell Ellen Ratner to "shove it?"..LOL...made my morning..
Sounds like Ellen Rattner. The Dems are turning on one of the few honorable Dems left in DC. Figures. And that should tell anyone everything they need to know about the complete moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the Dem party.
