IS there a growing cadre of closet conservatives in Hollywood?
In an exposé on secret Hollywood Republicans in its upcoming September issue, Details magazine unmasks a host of stealth celebrity conservatives, including Adam Sandler, Freddie Prinze Jr., Jessica Simpson and Shannen Doherty.
According to Details, the Republican National Committee has been quietly circulating a list of GOP-supporting Hollywood celebrities in the hopes of offsetting the Democratic Party's A-list star power, which includes liberal luminaries such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio.
But many on the Left Coast are reluctant to come forward with their conservative convictions. Rather than face Democratic venom at Tinseltown parties, most of the stars on the Republican list have chosen to conceal their political leanings, and some even live in fear of being blacklisted by the leftie powers that be.

Leave 'em alone. If they have chosen not to abuse their media celebrity to press their political views, then more power to them.
Yeah, the big stars are afraid 'cause they're just living paycheck to paycheck.
With 50% of the country favoring Bush, it makes sense that even Hollywood has to have quite a few conservatives. If enough of them come out, maybe the left's seeming monopoly on celebrity will finally ease.
I agree, but its important in one area, and thats to show how trully close minded and bigoted the hollywood left really is.
I am sure Adam Sandler and his publicist are none to happy about this coming out party, but then again he is probably the most marketable comedien actor right now, so at least his star power is strong enough to hold off bigoted hollywood.
According to the author of the article on Van Sustern last night, there is quite a few closet republicans in Hollywood who are scared to come out.
This one isn't surprising, if true, since he grew up in New Hampshire.

UGH! The last thing we need are Hollywood conservatives. Every celebrity is so stupid, they won't help our cause. Jessica Simpson on this list kind of proves my point. We'll take Reagan, Tom Selleck and Charlton Heston and they can have the rest. PLEASE!
Know what? Hit them where it hurts. Don't go see their movies. I used to go every week. I have seen 2 in the last year, and am not inclined to give them any more of my money.
I used to always wonder why my parents didn't want to go, thinking it was always about the money. Maybe it wasn't.
