Hurley comes off as a slimy weasel.
Lemming is probably a better member of the stoat family to describe a liberal. They would prefer to hurl themselves in unison off a cliff rather than to take a moment to think about what's right.

makes me wonder if behind the scenes McCain is in agreement with the SB Vets.

Well it would HAVE to be "behind the scenes" if it involves McCain taking a conservative stand for something. Because to go public with it would require a profile in courage that simply isn't there. McCain's greatest caution has always been to NEVER say anything that would alienate his own party (the after-deadline media party).

"I have seen Odell before and he is just a terrific man. Solid as a rock and credibility is unquestionable."

I am very grateful that we had men like Odell defending this country, and there are military men and women like him out there doing the same thing. May God bless them all.

Bob Schieffer has always been a Bolshevik hack. He's a total clown. His face turns beet red and he looks like his nose will pop.

I think I may have the wrong Alison. All I heard was her first name. It was definitely MSNBC.

Good point. I found myself watching incredulously as Georgie continued to let O'Neill make his points, and did very little re-directing of the discussion.

As I said, he was MOSTLY fair to O'Neill.

Michelle Malkin's comment saying they should call the show "Slimeball" was checkmate. He was outmatched, uninformed, and spitting like an oil rig. Pathetic.

"OUTSOURCING OUR NATIONAL SECURITY." That's the best political quote of this entire website, ever!

Get this to Bush/Cheney asap!

The Clinton machine at work. Kerry's campaign will be ground to dust.

Hurley did get in Kerry's mainline defense, which is all these ads and the boat is a Bush enterprise. O'Dell was great in correcting Wallace. He said Perry is NOT the biggest contributor, the American people are, then he gave the numbers on how much money came in. Over 100,000 on one day, and over $200,000 on another day.

Thanks for posting this summary.

Right after O'Dell said that Perry had built his house, my station went to commercial and came back as Chris was closing the segment.

I knew O'Dell would give a strong answer. He handled himself extremely well.

"If he wants to have a debate about our service in Vietnam...."

Is that the royal "our", John. Dubya never said he was in Viet Nam.

Hurley was hammered on the Cambodia question. This is the heart of the entire debate because Kerry tried to bring down Nixon and Reagan with that lie. Hurley can only change the story to AWOL, but offers no proof he was in Cambodia and admits it was not on Christmas. Checkmate!

Pray for W and Our Troops

"Chris Wallace did a fabulous job.

I agree. There was one problem. Chris Wallace treated the After Action and other documents like they were gospel. Actually, we still do not know who wrote them! This belief in the sanctity of the secular, written word is common to intellectuals. Seemingly, they forget that documents are written with people who have are not always truthful or sincere.

If there is a 527 group needing an idea for an ad, I have one. Focus on the 1968 Christmas in Cambodia. It gets to the heart of a man who made up war stories to further his political career. The RATS will squeal like stuck pigs and cry foul. You have the the facts, we only need the message.

Then if you have time and money, ask the question, "...does Senator Kerry stand by the following..." Devastating.

In the meantime the RAT strategy is crystal clear. No defense or statements from the candidate or the "band of brothers." No, just try to demolish the opposition or meet them tangentially with confused accounts of what happened. Ordinarily, this would work like it worked on Kenneth Starr and the impeachment imbroglio. Not now. The Internet, especially FR and its cohorts, Talk Radio and Fox Cable News and to a lesser extent other cable channels have kept this story alive and exciting.

In the meantime, regardless of what happens Kerry is off message and the President is on message and the RATS are unable to move their campaign off the dime.

Imagine if you will the Kerry campaign drinking a fine wine and you want to spoil it or have them stop. If you fight them for it you get messy, but if lean over and spit in it---they can stir it up and say it looks and smells the same, but be assured, it will not taste the same. This is what the Swift Boat Vets have done to them. I sent them money and I will again. Bravo and thanks Swift Boat VEts.

PS: My DEROS was 17 May 1969.

In case you missed it:

ABC Georgie S. has O'Neill v Podesta

Podesta follows the Kerry spin pattern, "it's Texas Republicans money sponsoring these ads. The Swiftboaters are "mobbed up with Bush Campaign", Podesta says.

Podesta says there's no evidence Dr. Levson treated him. " Podesta said Kerry has schrapnel as opposed to Bush who has 2 fillings in his teeth." (Isn't that a cute line, wonder who wrote it for Podesta?)

O'Neill points out how Kerry campaign tried to say Levson wasn't a doctor and wasn't there, now they've had to admit Levson was the doctor and the signed report was by Levson's corpsman, like a nurse, he explains. Everyone will understand that clarification from their own expeirences with doctors.

Podesta says these swiftboaters all had different stories in 96 when these allegations against Kerry came up. I think this will have a different impact than Podesta intended. To me, Podesta is admitting to American voters that Kerry's military accomplishments have ALWAYS been suspect!!

Podesta is absolutely no match for O'Neill. AND isn't it telling? The Kerry campaign sends out JOhn Podesta to defend Kerry on the very important Sunday morning ABC show. They did not send out Rassmun (sp) or any of Kerry's crew to debate O'Neill this morning on ABC. Viewers have to ask why Kerry is keeping his crewmen under wraps, not allowing them to defend Kerry publicly.

O'Neill manages to get in every charge against Kerry one by one, and Podesta just sits there. "the story keeps changing", Podesta repeats, over and over.

HARK! Podesta explodes just like every other Kerry defender has done. In disugst and anger, Podesta angrily says to O'Neill, , "You don't have any problem with Bush's service in Alabama?". HAHAHAHHA And they haven't even gotten to Christmas in Cambodia!!! George reads the Kerry 'seared seard" quote. (I bet Podesta has damp panties by now.)

Podesta says whether they were 5 miles inside Cambodia or 50 miles away it doesn't matter, they took enemy fire that day. and he's stuttering. hee hee

"you know George, this is politics, McCain, Cleland".., humma humma, Podesta stutters out.

In response to the 2nd ad about Kerry's testimony before Senate, Podesta says "look he was reporting what he had heard". (And how weak is that?) O'Neill makes an impassioned, heart wrenching explanation to the impact Kerry's words about atrocities had on the swiftboaters. OH my, his finest moment yet.

I love FR. I learn so much. I confess I'd never heard the term "stoat family" before.

Hurley was a slimy lemming...

Investors Business Daily editorial coming out tomorrow. Opening paragraph:
John Kerry says he'll fight claims he lied about or exaggerated his service in Vietnam. The best way to fight such charges would be to stop calling people names and start providing some answers.
This issue is burning a hole through the old media barricades. Never has there been a better example of: "Hoist on his own petard". LOL!

You may have missed the early show on the regular Fox network, but it repeats in the afternoon on Fox News at 4 PM Central time where I live.

Check the Fox News station where you live for the time.
