Is it really true that our border patrol agents are only 'armed' with pellet guns?

The Border Patrol has a limited number of pepperball launchers (PLS). Every Border Patrol Agent carrys a pistol. All Border Patrol Agents have access to shotguns and M-4, full auto rifles. The pepperball guns were deployed to prevent illegal aliens from being shot and killed during rock throwing incidents.

So then George P. Bush's complaint is fairly ridiculous given that the use of pellet guns is intended to protect people from getting killed.

His comments are not only rediculous but infuriating as well. I've seen numerous Border Patrol Agents risk their own lives and well being to avoid killing aggressive illegal aliens.

Are these available to the general public?

They sound like fun.

The guns are but I don't think the pepperballs are. Of course, I'm told that frozen paintballs achieve the same effect.

Frozen paintballs?

That sounds lethal.

Oh, yeah...
