The following verbatim quote is from John Kerrys testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Thursday, April 22, 1971:
KERRY: "...but I want to relate to you the feeling that many of the men who have returned to this country express because we are probably angriest about all that we were told about Vietnam and about the mystical war against communism."
The "mystical war" against communism to which John Kerry refers is known to history as the Cold War, that long struggle between western democracies and Soviet and Red Chinese communist expansion. Every U.S. president from Harry Truman to George H. W. Bush staunchly struggled through the Cold War issues of their day. Yet John Kerry casually dismissed that great battle between democracy and communism as "mystical."
Before we vote in November for the next Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces, it is imperative that John Kerry explains to the American people what he meant then and more importantly, if he still holds the same views today.

IMHO FUBAR is a marxist-elitist.
"I'll end the ythical War on Terrorism, just as I did to the War in vietnam.
I still think he is the Manchurian Candidate!!Think about it? What deal did he make in that Paris meeting?
To the extent that it's possible to do from the grassroots up, we need to begin demanding answers from Kerry as to what he meant then and what his stance is today. Does he still belive the Cold War was a "mystical war against communism?"
Ping -- asking for help to generate a push from the grassroots up to demand answers on this.
Actually, I've suspected that for some time now. One thing for sure, to those of us who love freedom and America, he is potentially the most dangerous person on the face of the earth.
I'd like to see John Kerry's KGB* file, more than his Navy records.
(*And you know the Soviets have/had a file on John Kerry)
Aren't you giving him too much credit? Kerry seems to me to be the ultimate opportunist, without an ideological bone in his body. Whatever the situation seems to demand, he morphs into it. So, no. He's not a communist. He just vacuously ambitious.
Botox
he is potentially the most dangerous person on the face of the earth.
I beg to submit for your consideration:
Of course he is! He makes Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, and even Clinton/Gore almost look like moderates. The man is downright scary and the Bush/RNC people must hammer away at this.
John Kerry did not have to characterize the Cold War as a "mystical war against Communism" when he testified in 1971. He did so of his own volition, out of his own ideology and beliefs. Comments made off-handedly in passing as something else is being discussed, as this one was, more truly reveal what is inside a person's mind.
Furthermore, Kerry has been a Leftist ideologue his entire political career.
So in answer to your question, I think the greater danger lies in underestimating Kerry's pro-communist sympathies than in overestimating them.
ping to more and more evidence the Cold War isn't over.
Is sKerry a communist?
Da Comrade!!!
