The report I saw was months and months ago, and he said he was in a very opulent study and had cognac. The reason I know he slept there is that the scandal was that his other protestors stayed all night outside sleeping in front of the Capital.

The tramps' arrest records and interviews were obtained by Mary La Fontaine, who is not a supporter of the Warren Commission (see her book Oswald Talked: The New Evidence in the JFK Assassination); I don't see why she would help build a cover story for Hunt. I find it more likely that Hunt's original accusers fingered him because the left regarded him as a villain after Watergate. There are other people I think are better suspects than Hunt.

BTW while I was typing this, the disc I ordered with Kerry's files just arrived in the mail :-)

I was reviewing Unfit for Command yesterday and I noticed 107 mentions Kerry and his girlfriend slept elsewhere with "some politically sympathetic family friends", but I didn't notice mention of the names.

I just noticed you were responding to #83; when I typed my reply I was assuming you were replying to #95, so I may have misread you. You're suggesting that what Hunt is quoted as saying in #83 was his cover story? That's possible. I'd really need to review more of the case from the transcripts and testimony to decide on that--would want to see what the other burglars testifed about it and what the White House discussed about it.

After I read "Best Evidence", I stop reading about the assassination. I have read maybe 30 books, I don't buy the Warren Commission line at all, "Best Evidence" is IMHO the best book.

I try to keep up with everything that's been written on it, but there's so many, LOL! I've yet to read a book that answers all the questions I have on the case. One of the books I've found most interesting, besides ones already mentioned, is Vincent Palamara, The Third Alternative (currently being rewritten with updated information). I've been wanting to read that new book by Barr McClellan but haven't had a chance yet.

In Best Evidence you learn: 1. That the famous pictures of Kennedy's casket going into Bethesda Navel are a fake, wrong casket.

2. The casket went to Walter Reed Army Hospital.

3. That the corpsman whose job it was to prep the body at Walter Reed states there was no brain in the skull cavity, had been removed prior to arrival in DC.

4. The doctors in Texas testified that the body was wrapped in a white sheet, arrived at Walter Reed with no sheet in a body bag.

He covers what happened after the assassination, the cover up, and it was covered up. In order for what happened to have been covered up meant it had to happen on the highest levels. No way it was one shooter and three bullets. The book doesn't imply who did it, just how it was covered up. Interesting side point to this book is a couple of years ago I was attending a flea market and a man there had a picture from the book and i made a comment to him and he was the corpsman who prepped the body.
