Ford Partners with Homosexual Activist Groups
CNSNEWS.COM ^ | August 24, 2004 | By Melanie Hunter

Posted on 08/25/2004 3:56:36 AM PDT by Bobby Chang

A major automaker is partnering with a homosexual activist group by developing a special marketing campaign geared towards homosexuals.

Ford Motor Company's Jaguar North America and Land Rover North America announced Tuesday their expanded national sponsorship of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

The automakers will launch ads this month featuring a special "give-back" purchase offer benefiting the group, as part of a marketing and advertising campaign designed to reach "gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) consumers."

"At Jaguar we understand the importance of creating strong partnerships with community organizations that impact our customers' lives," said George Ayres, vice president of marketing for Jaguar North America. "That is why we are proud to support GLAAD's work to promote fairness, inclusion and equality."

"The principles of diversity and equality are an integral part of Land Rover's values," said Sally Eastwood, vice president of marketing for Land Rover North America. "We are committed to these values both within our company and in the way we reach out to all our customers. This is not just our responsibility, it is good business."

Here's how the "give-back" purchase offer works:

For any new or select edition Jaguar or new or certified pre-owned Land Rover purchased or leased between Jan. 1, 2004 and Dec. 31, 2004, tracked with a special GLAAD/Jaguar/Land Rover coupon, Jaguar and Land Rover will make individual donations of up to $1,000 to GLAAD.

All eligible leases or purchases must be made on or between those dates.

Jaguar and Land Rover are pursuing a "niche market of more than 14 million consumers, with a buying power estimated to be more than $450 billion." In the past, the automakers sponsored the GLAAD Media Awards and the Human Rights Campaign.

"Jaguar and Land Rover understand that fairness and inclusion have a direct and measurable impact on the lives of real people," said Joan M. Garry, executive director of GLAAD.

"Whether as part of their employee relations or their marketing outreach, Jaguar and Land Rover have demonstrated a strong commitment to the GLBT community and to a corporate culture that embraces and harnesses the power of diversity. We're proud to be working with Jaguar and Land Rover," Garry said.

Print ads about the GLAAD purchase offer will run in "national GLBT publications," including OUT and The Advocate.

This is intentional. A third Ford division, Volvo, earlier ran marketing ads with lesbian couples "starting a family" in their campaigns.

Ford is intentionally running the homosexual rights campaign with their premium brands.

Fine. If the idiots at Ford want to play the game of politics, I'll be sure to never buy any of their products.

I suppose they'll have to build an entire automotive legacy with 1-3 percent of the population.

I have already sworn against buying another Ford after I bought a 1997 F-150. One problem after another, before the engine blew after 80,000 miles. The 4.2L engines are junk.

I used to buy Ford products, but this changes my mind completely. I will not support a company that openly backs homosexuality. Those are not my values. They should have stuck to improving their product instead of targeting consumers.

We left our bank because of this and right now, Ford will be eliminated from our search for a new car. It is not appropriate for companies, corporations or institutions to pay special homage to any group because of the methods they use to experience sex. When a society tolerates this kind of insanity, who knows what else will be down the road. I am glad I do not own Ford stock..If I did, I would become "socially conscious" today and I would sell.

Yeah, they could offer a special edition E350 with no rear windows, an enclosed cargo compartment with no interior latch, and built-in duct tape dispenser. Call it the "boy-lover's limited" or something. It would only come in white, of course.

I just bought a silver 2004 Jetta GLS (which the wife & I are still trying to name (scouring Tolkien, Norse Mythology, etc. for a sufficiently cool name (which also satisfies her requirement that all cars have female names (but I digress...))).

Please tell me VW hasn't done anything like this?

Ford makes crap anyway.

The F150 is the best selling vehicle because it is cheap.

I'd rather have a used Silverado than a new F150 and I can get an "A" plan discount on a new Ford.

Well, Range Rover is now permanently removed from any further consideration as a replacement SUV for my '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I'll stay with Jeep, for now.

I sold my old Jag years ago, and would never buy another one.

And Ford is now officially on my sh!t list, with HJ Heinz Co, catering to pedophiles, carpet-munchers, rump-raiders, perverts, deviants, fidge-packers and assorted degenerates. Sickening scumbags, all.

"Jaguar and Land Rover understand that fairness and inclusion have a direct and measurable impact on the lives of real people," said Joan M. Garry, executive director of GLAAD.

I can see the new marketing campaigns now:

"Fags love Jags."

and

"If you like to bend over, you'll love the Land Rover."

Jeep is German, from the same people who gave us Nazi military equipment . . .

And Nissan is FRENCH! The biggest owner of Nissan is Renault at 44%. Much of their current management was put on the board by Renault.

I remember the backlash after GM's Chevrolet brand sponsored Sony BMG artist and RNC performer Third Day for a 2002 concert. The Atlanta-based rockers, a three-time GMA Music Award Group of the Year (2001-03), has been affiliated with the brand with a plug as "official vehicle of Third Day" on their site. Chevrolet is once again sponsoring Third Day, this time on the Live Wire Tour with TobyMac, and local Bowtie outlets will be promoting Third Day with promotions at the dealerships.

And Heinz management is strongly pro-Bush. Executives at Heinz are giving NOTHING to Kerry, and is supporting the President with legal contributions to the President. Since the death of H. J. Heinz II in 1978, the family hasn't been at the helm. Sorry, Teresa. The Heinz bosses are supporting your opponent.

We quit buying Fords when we found out they were flying the Vietnamese Communist flag at corporate headquarters in Michigan!!! It's bad enough that Ford is helping prop up the commies in Nam by making parts there, but when they opened the plant they started flying the commie flag at corporate headquarters, that was the final straw!

Daimler-Benz owns Jeep and Chrysler, and Nissan is partly-mostly owned by the Froggies. Maybe it's time to look at GMC, as you suggest. But darn it, I sure do like that Nissan Murano SUV.

Jaguar and Land Rover are pursuing a "niche market of more than 14 million consumers, with a buying power estimated to be more than $450 billion."

Wait....wait...wait 14 Million People out of 300 million or so? But I thought that 1 in 10 people were gay. 14 out of 300 million is about 4 1/2 percent, or about what we've been saying on FR all along.

And these stats come from a marketing department that calculates demographics out to four decimal points.....

You don't suppose that we were right and the homosexual lobby was lying? Naaaahhh.....they must have been misinformed.

Time to steal a line from the late Oldsmobile ads "It's not your Father's Oldsmobile Ford.
