Rassman,
Licorice the Hamster.
VC the Dog.
Kerry's nautical stories always seem to have someone, or some animal, falling into the water to be rescued.

For if it can be determined WHEN it was taken I keep wondering the same also ... I'm also wondering if that is a bruise on his arm

He named his dog for the VC........can you imagine anyone really doing that. He was on their side, that's the only reason I can think of.
Who would name their dog for their enemy?
It would be like NYers naming their pets for the hi jackers.

I think he was serving off the coast of Nam. Good job. You both caught what I had totally missed, namely that Kerry was on the USS Gridley at that time. That means that the Opinion Journal has made a mistake and this quote doesn't qualify as a Kerry whopper. Fair is fair, even to a pathological liar like JFK.

Wrote Kerry: "I knew firsthand from my tours [sic] of duty in Vietnam the bravery and distinction with which gay soldiers served their country." Obviously he meant his gay "New Soldiers" after he left Vietnam that slurred their country.

Wonder if the bump on the jerk's arm is a Purple Heart wound? Well .. if we can find the date the picture was taken, we'll know

There once was a pup named VC
Who rode boats with other Swiftees
A blast from behind
Caused by an enemy mine
Was seared in the mind of the nominee
Did VC land on feet or on hip
When tossed off of that small little ship?
He was only a pup
Not yet a grown up
And already knew how to flop and to flip
Where had he learned this neat little trick
To dodge and to fake and to slip
It must have been John
His friend al along
Who taught him to flip flop so smooth and so quick

Here's a doggie story for you.
A mine explosion so hard it threw VC from one boat to another. Yet, miraculously, Kerry's boat could carry on.
