Washington, DC, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The Kerry-Edwards campaign unveiled Wednesday a list of Republicans it says agreed to lead an effort to convince other GOP'ers to defect in November. The Kerry-Edwards campaign said the roll out of the list and a new Web site is "the beginning of an ongoing national effort by Republicans who have pledged their support for John Kerry."The leadership committee is composed of 29 individuals the Kerry-Edwards campaign identified as Republicans, including CSX Vice-Chairman A.R. "Pete" Carpenter, former National Policy Association CEO and Reagan administration official Malcolm Lovell, and ex-Nixon EPA Administrator Russell Train.
Others individuals involved, identified only by name and state of residence, include Georgia's Rich Boggs; Jason Brooms and Clyde Prestowitz of Washington, D.C.; Kentucky's Owsley and Christina Brown, Marshall Field of Illinois, New York's Rita Hauser, and George Hume of California.

Some people like enemas, too. What's their point?
These people could probably use a good Colonic.
The latest DT poll says only 3% of Pubbies are crossing over to vote for Kerry. Big deal. <Yawn
Let me guess..they're all elitist country club setters?
I wonder how long these folks have been Pubbies?
They give RINOs a bad name.
They have defecting railroad execs. And we have Senator Miller, Ed Kock, prominent Democratic Mayors etc.
yeah this will reeeaaaalllly get skerry some votes......NOT
{snicker}
If this is the A-list...They'd've been better off not bothering.
Not the green pants and pink shirt gang?
WOW, a stellar list of well-knowns isn't it? (kidding).........
The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth have virtually derailed John Kerrys campaign. Several accounts have Kerry dodging the press corps and on Tuesday night, his first interview since this story broke was a literal jokeon Comedy Central. Kerry seems clueless as to how to answer these serious charges, and incredible revelations that are growing by the day.
From Editor & Publisher
Some of the reporters covering Kerry said that the candidate had become less accessible on the campaign plane in recent weeks, with a few speculating that it might be because he did not want to face questions about the swift boat issue.
Kerry appears to have grown more wary of reporters due to this issue. "He did not come to the back of the plane," Broder said about Tuesday's flight from Boston to New York. "He had been much more accessible." Glen Johnson of The Boston Globe, also in the press travel pool, concurred, saying "that limits the options of what we can write about."
This small under funded 527 group of Viet Nam veterans have baffled the Kerry campaign. The talking point of calling them liars at every turn is failing miserably. With each passing rabid interview of Kerry spokespeople throwing the term liar around, Kerry loses credibility. Its now showing up in the polls, and its tough to run a presidential campaign while ducking the media.

Didn't see McCain's name. Surprising.
Don't matter.
sKerry is toast.
The only votes he's getting is the ones he's buying or the ones already paid for by the MSM, Soros, Moore and MacAwful.
The above article is just a shopping list.
The two are mutually exclusive. If you are for kerry, then you are a RINO, not a republican.
Regards, Ivan
So where are they going with this meaningless story?
Doesn't change my mind to vote for K(ommie)erry
Does anyone see a Republican on that list with the stature and visibility of Zell Miller, who will be the keynote speaker in NY next week? I didn't think so...BTW, here in Ohio, the Kerry campaign is running an ad featuring former Air Force Chief of Staff Merrill "Tony" McPeak, endorsing Kerry. If the Dims think McPeak will sway vets and military voters, they are sadly mistaken. McPeak was despised as Chief of Staff, pushing through a lot of empty and meaningless reform, including a new uniform (quickly dumped by his successor) that looked like it came from American Airlines...also, knowing McPeak, he's probably been promised some sort of position in a Kerry Pentagon--one more reason to vote for Bush...
Just about as "Republican" as the seminar caller "republicans" that call Rush & Hannity then start every call with, "I'm a life long republican who voted for Bush in 2000 but I'm voting for Kerry this year because of (insert democrat talking point of the day)...
Were it thousands it would pale in the face of the many who, as we type, are fleeing the Kerry camp.
From "Anybody But Bush", I'm hearing "Anybody But Kerry".
Oh my gosh, Clyde Prestowitz has switched over to Kerry. I'd better be a lemming and join him!
And, while sKerry's campaign keeps saying the Swifties are lying, over and over... they (sKerry people) are admitting to various sKerry lies about his service in Nam. We'll know things have really come unraveled when we see sKerry people jumping off his sinking ship. Give it about a month.
'Republicans for Kerry'. Uh-huh.
They're about as mainstream as the Britisches Freikorps were, and probably as numerous.
You have to wonder if the irony of using Russell Train, a NIXON guy ( OOOOOOH ) even crossed their stupid minds.
This has been a media spin project for months. They have had countles stories of some "republican" who is going to vote for kerry this time.
This is an effort to create a Reagan Democrats in reverse. It is also to country the fact that Kerry looses democrats every time with the homsoexual marriage issue.
I confess that I've not heard of any of these folks.
Is this a list of the highest profile Republicans they can find to support sKerry?
If it is, I really am shocked at the solidarity of the party behind the President. I can't recall any time the party has been so unified.
.
I hope you posted that article as a thread... I'll check later and do so if it's not already here.
.
Yep. I did a cursory FEC donation search on some of the names listed there. These donors seemed to give money to RINOs like Amo Houghton et al.
So what. There they go with the "AH HA STATISTICS". Twenty-nine republicans is not a huge percentage considering the actual number of republicans there are.
No, sadly, if you are for Kerry, you are just a Democrat. He's the most liberal Senator in the Senate.
These are the same folks who call C-SPAN and proclaim, "I've been a Lifelong Republican (tm), but with this latest outrage blah blah blah I'm going to vote against Bush . . . "
They're still lying. They never voted Republican in their lives.
I've seen that ad and wondered what that guy's story was. Thanks.
My oh my, those are some pretty powerful Pubbie credentials there! </sarc>
All two of them.
There was one lone nut job outside Penn Station this morning. He was holding up a sign and handing out bumper stickers that said "Republicans for Kerry". Commuters just hurried past and made their way around him to get where they were going. From what I saw, most people pretty much laughed and ignored him.
Re.:
"Didn't see McCain's name. Surprising."
Yeah; me too.
Add to that list Senators Olympia SNOWE and Susan COLLINS from Maine, I would opine.
Neither of them ever saw a tax, an abortion, or a Clinton they didn't fall right in love with.
By extension it would probably be reasonable to assume that they feel the same way about our "War Hero" opponent.
It's RINO Senators like these that allow the Dems to essentially rule the Senate and veto at least 10 Judicial Nominees despite being in the nominal "minority".
With "Republican" like these, who needs Democrats around, anyway?
Not one single name on this list that the average American would recognize. If this is the best they can do, no worries.
when the best you can do is find a former Nixon EPA Administrator why bother. Yeah that really compares to the Republicans having a sitting Dem. Senator (2 if you count McCain), and two current mayors. Oh now, Kerry's got the former Nixon EPA Administrator we're doomed, doomed as doomed can be.
Wow! These names are right up there with Koch, Miller and Toby Keith! LOOK OUT! We are DOOOOOOOOOMED!
I think this group will have as much effect as the anti-Bush ads by Rebecca Romjin (formerly Stamos).
More then 2% of America's democratic senators are Bush supporters!
Zell
be my guest, I cant do it right now
You might want to look into this group.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Looks like we've spotted the globalist connection between Kerry and Dubya's Treasury Secretary John Snow.
Small world among the globo-Republicrats, isn't it?
