Isn't it a Federal crime to alter military documents?

Not if you're a Dem'Rat. You can also steal classified documents, kill women in your car, and trade satellite technology to the Chinese in return for campaign contributions, if you so choose.

****ANOTHER UPDATE****

Major Garrett had another report on Fox tonight. I came in late, but heard him say Lehman called him today. When I came in the room he was saying, "...he said he put it through, but has no idea how that extra flowery language got added. He wishes he could find out."

I'm glad to hear Lehman is making calls. He wants an answer, too.

This what I found over at The Hill:

Major Garrett reported that former Navy Secretary John Lehman, a member of the Sept. 11 commission, now is questioning the addition of a line in an updated letter Kerry apparently sent in the mid-1980s concerning a medal he received.

Fox said the additional sentence contained “flowery” language.

Good news re Lehman getting personally involved in Kerry's blatant fill in his own medal commendation.

It sounds like it didn't end in Nam but continued at least to the mid 1980's.

Remember how vicious the mediots of the MSM branch of the rats were with Admiral Borda and one little V on a single ribbon. If there was a single good reporter amongst the mediots of the MSM branch of the rats, they would be all over this story.

That's a big "IF".

I'm probably being too optimistic, but it seems to me that Michael Dobbs at the Washington Post has been all over the Swift Boat story.

Without continued pressure from Lehman, though, I don't see this going anywhere.

The Swift Vets have a new ad showing a long haired maggot throwing his medals away.

This new ad will help to expose Kerry's fabrications of why he deserved the medals, and then how he threw them away.

Below is the website for all of us to donate to the Swift Vets to buy more ads:

Kerry senior adviser Michael Meehan could not be reached for comment on Kerry's records because he was busy banging his head against a brick wall.

I'm sure after today's challenge by the SwiftVets, he has either busted his head or the brick wall.

And I quote:

Asked how the citation could have been executed over his signature without his knowledge, Lehman said: "I have no idea. I can only imagine they were signed by an autopen." The autopen is a device often used in the routine execution of executive documents in government.

(Did you even read the article to which this thread responds? Lehman HIMSELF just a few days ago suggested that. The signatures on the two documents are absolutely identical. Do you sign your name identically every single time with regards to spacing, loop height, slant, size, etc? An autopen does. And it's still in use today.)

I don't think sharks have tongues.

Of course in real life this wouldn't happen.

Sharks never attack Lawyers, as that would be like attacking one of their own.

Yes, of COURSE I read a whole thread first, before I respond. Seems prudent, ala SNL's church lady, LOL!

I must be really really old. Auto pen that I was referring to was from a very long time ago.

I was talking about office equipment. Being an office-type person since 1969, I thought I knew something about it.

Well, guess ya learn something new every day, hun?

This whole fiasco with Kerry, his medals, his nam tour, his early out, his alignment with Fonda et al and worse, and going to France is incredible.

Where was our media when this was happening, and why didn't they investigate it.

Where was our media when this was happening, and why didn't they investigate it.

Long story, but I believe that most went into journalism over the past 30 years to "bring down the establishment." Some of them have matured and tempered their ideas. But the core value remains: America was wrong to develop dangerous and leaky weapons of mass destruction, to build a missile defense system that could have triggered a global nuclear holocaust (self defense is immoral), and to fight the domino theory in Vietnam.

Today they make up stories like, "Russia would have collapsed of its own weight." (Why would it when it had all the resources it needed from its victims of communist imperialism?)

So we can't expect them to have anything else but a schizophrenic perspective about Kerry today.

I'm not saying that nobody who opposed the war were right. I'm saying that most of the grounds on which the war was opposed were lies, and adults should be more willing to question lies than youth. Those people are adults today, but they're still not willing to question the basis on which they built a failed world view.

A successful world view given their stated values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (OK, that means hedonism for them, but so be it) would have been to support the American way, which gave them all of that, and still does promise to deliver it to any culture that adopts our stances on the rule of law, freedom of commerce, freedom of religion, plurality in government, and equality for all human beings.

I think you and I would agree that at least half of these activists practicing under the cloak of journalism were dupes of KGB propaganda machinery. They need to step away from the fog of brainwashing and remember that America destroyed colonialism by neutralizing the great European imperialist powers, liberated Europe twice, terminated the Holocaust, defeated the Soviet empire, and defended democracy in South America, Asia, Africa, and the mid east.

If the hippies wanted freedom, this is where they should have been looking for it. For a 30 year run of historic ignorance, they've been selling themselves and the American people the idea that liberty doesn't come from the barrel of a gun held by a principled, justice-loving, freedom-loving, and decent soldier.

By the way, Zell Miller's quote of Father Denis Edward O'Brien, USMC was RIGHT ON in the Republican Convention.
