Or perhaps croquet, in top hat and morning suit,

Croquet is an extremely pretentious sport.

My band once performed at a country club where they had a croquet green. It seems that the uniform for playing croquet is to dress all in white. The party we played for had a croquet theme, and all the revelers dressed in white.

When he walked in and saw the crowd, the drummer asked, "Where are we? In heaven?

I noticed that the TNR site is really hewing the (Dem) party line this week. Too bad - sometimes they actually have something good to say, but they destroy their credibility with garbage like this.

After Kerry's speech to the American Legion I don't think it will matter who comes or goes in his campaign.

I haven't and I think I know why.

Is it because someone snuck up behind him and cut his achilles tendon so now all he can do is slice (...he can't hit nuttin' straight)?

For the sake of FReeper unity I'll accept the apology, but there was nothing in my original message criticizing fox hunting per se, and I would strongly oppose it being outlawed.

As a past President of Harvard once remarked, "Remember your A students as they will comeback as professors, but remember your C students as they will donate the buildings". Or come back as POTUS!!!

Then my humblest apologies are cordially extended together with an invitation to participate with me in this noble blood sport.

Bring your own britches, I'll supply the stirrup cup.

Has anybody noticed that when we see Kerry doing sporting activities, he is always alone. Wind surfing, bike riding, etc. with no one else along. Doesn't he have any friends? I suspect if we did see him golfing, he would be playing in a onesome.

as opposed to something more traditionally middle-class.

How about going all the way to cow tipping. The heartland will eat it up, John. You'll be a shoe-in.

(Imagining a picture of John Kerry lying in a pasture with the cow tipped back on top of him).

Does "F" refer to a four-letter expletive? And was that what Susan said right after she heard the speeches?

Rudy has no foreign policy experience?

Clinton's only foreign policy experience was smoking weed at Oxford. Where was the criticism then?

**I wonder what Estrich thought of Clinton's speech, given he cheated on his wife with a young intern.**

She fawned all over fat teddy's speech, it was so pathetic. "I just love him" she said in that nasty whiney voice of hers, giving in 4 "donkeys" per Gretas grading system

I guess a divorce is so much worse than murder in her tiny mind

Croquet is an extremely pretentious sport.

LOL Yes, it can be. It can also be played the way our neighborhood played it when we were kids, with a couple of the wickets set up on the very edge of a sloping driveway. Hit the ball too softly & you're bringing your ball back from down the block. Playing it on a sandy beach is also a lot of fun. :o)
