Vanity: Ron Reagan links the Republicans to Hyper-Homosexual Bigots
MSNBC ^ | August 31/September 1, 2004 | MSNBC After Hours

Posted on 08/31/2004 9:25:08 PM PDT by mcg1969

OK, now I'm pissed off. Look, I can take a bit of media bias. And frankly I was surprised at just how gracious and positive Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, and the rest of the MSNBC crew were.

So I guess I wasn't too surprised that eventually, Ron Reagan had to spoil the party tonight on the MSNBC After Hours show, calling Schwarzenegger's speech "ordinary", and "expecting a little bit more."

But what pisses me off ROYALLY is that he launched into a speech about how this party's platform is against civil unions and gay marriage, and made the point that Schwarzenegger is "basically okay with gay marriage" (not true if his recall speeches are to be believed), and that this was the party that is okay with people going to funerals of gay people with signs that say "God Hates Fags."

Where the hell does he get off saying that! I mean, seriously. Do I accuse all the Democrats of supporting pedophilia just because NAMBLA is likely full of a bunch of Democrats? So who the heck does he think he is linking us to such cruelty?

I say this, incidentally, as a Christian who does believe that homosexual activity is sinful (just as I believe so about all extramarital sexual activity). But that's a far cry from those who would stomp on the graves of the dead.

Yes, but the more he opens his mouth, the more he shows how much of a non-player and mental midget he is when it comes to politics. It's a shame the other Reagan son isn't getting more air time.

This is all BUSH'S FAULT! He is personally responsible for setting militant homosexualism back 20 years. I hope he can live with himself. He's leading those rascal Republicans in a revolt to return to a stricter moral code. This is beyond reproach! How dare he!

:) HA! Denote heavy, heavy sarcasm.

How desperate and sad is Ron Reagan, knowing he has the genes of a great man in him and yet he is so small.

And knowing he may get Alzheimer's and knowing that fetal stem cell research offers no hope of a cure.

And knowing that your ballet buddies are all "gay" and you sort of sympathize or even once thought you were "gay" too.

Poor pathetic Ron.

Next door to me is a toy poodle who barks savagely at anyone who walks by. If you so much as look at him, though, he puts his tail between his legs and slinks away. Sound familiar?

Yappy toy poodles aren't worth getting pissed off at.

Yes, it does. He should be ashamed because no decent human being of any political party should go to a funeral with such a sign. I have heard of some very strange religious cult that did that, but that is not representative of the Republican party. I would however like to point out that the behavior of hatred displayed by the democrats of late is more in tune with bringing despicable signs to funerals, and or holding a rally at a memorial service.

That would be the Fred Phelps group - they protested Reagan's funeral with signs saying he's rotting in hell. I believe they're protesting the GOP convention.

They give Christians a bad name. And no, they're not representative of the republican party.

Fair question---because oddly enough, Fox's panel was far less complimentary of Laura Bush than I expected, so I headed over to MSNBC to see if that was the unanimous opinion. And oddly enough, it wasn't! I thought I had my stations mixed up, in fact. Everyone, including Andrea Mitchell, was complimentary, though I knew that she was really looking for a way to slam the evening. And then Chris Matthews had Larry Gatlin on which was a treat.

And then Ron Reagan came on and ruined it.

I think another post I read summed it up nicely... conservatives look for substance and debate, so Laura Bush's speech didn't satisfy them--not enough substance. Liberals thrive on emotional response, and given the content of LB's speech, it made their hearts throb.

But that's semi-OT. The main point is, avoid MSNBC at all costs. At least 1/4 of their ratings come from conservatives who watch just to get angry at the hosts. There's always CNN for the liberal opinion disguised as news factor, but at least they do it somewhat professionally.

Do a web search on Fred Phelps and Al Gore, and you'll see what I mean. Phelps was invited to both Clinton-Gore inaugurals! Here's a pic of the two of them together:

Ron, God doesn't hate fags? Why would he then create AIDS, stds, mental illness and make it impossible for them the reproduce themselves? Fags are deviants, perverts created to teach a lesson to who? Faggitude is a terrible disease and God's positve efforts would go, of course, into curing it.

Last night I watched the film "Philadelphia _______" with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. Hanks plays a talented Big Firm defense lawyer dying of AIDS. Washington plays a plaintiffs' lawyer who has stereotypical anti-gay views. There are some really funny scenes in the film where Washington gets all tangled up with his "Gay-faggit-who-does-what-to-who" humor. I was howling. His attitude accurately reflected the view of most people I knew in the legal community in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

Most Americans are not sophisticated lawyers or A-List types who make movies for a living. In my personal opinion, most people are kinda uncomfortable with this Gay-thing even though they may show up at a Gay Pride Parade to gawk at the marchers antics. Particularly if they live in the mid-west or the south because the gays gravitate towards the coasts and large cities.

Ron Reagan is too, too, too sophisticated. After all, he grew up in the film world.

I can guarantee Ron one thing: the talk at the watercooler tomorrow will be about Arnold, period. That was no ordinary speech, and it may well be remembered in the same light as Ronald Reagan's "A Time for Choosing".

It must pi$$ little Ron off that George W. Bush and now Arnold Schwartzenegger are BOTH learned more from his dad than he did. They will earn a place in history, and Ron won't even rate a footnote (except in dog show circles).

Ron Reagan is one poor disturbed man. If his father was around he would disown him. He must be breaking Nancy's heart.

I pray for that woman, for strength and comfort for that she gave to her husband.

This Ron Reagan needs a slap across the face to come back to reality.

MSNBC puts Ronny on for one reason.. to cause Ronald Reagan to roll over in his grave.

I am sure that Ronald loved his son, but this just goes to show that parents can only do so much for a kid, then it is up to the kid to finish the job of becoming an adult.

Ronny is a self-loathing person who hates his mommy and daddy and is using his sexual perversion and political antagonism to stick it to them.

Son Michael said after the funeral that Nancy thinks little Ronnie can do no wrong, so she may not be in disagreement with his politics. As further evidence of her left leaning politics, she recently started a commotion in support of stem cell research, one of little Ronnie's favorite subjects.
