First Matthews made sexist insinuations against Michelle Malkin and tonight he tried to shoutdown and insult Senator Zell Miller after his speech for not toing the liberal party line. Tell MSNBC what you think even though you don't watch the network (Nobody does) but that's no excuse for this scumball!

I have to agree! I just happened on to that interview as I was fixing to turn the tv off. As a general rule, I don't watch tv, so don't know a lot about Matthews--but from what I saw tonight, he's not only rude, he's an idiot!

They did that test the responses of the undecideds again, with electronic tracking during the speechs, and after the program, 11 out of 17 stated that from the speechs tonight, they would be voting for Bush/Cheney.

After the last couple of weeks, that's an extremely appropos question.

My dad's 88 yrs. old, and he does the same to Dan Rather & Brokaw every night watching the news. (Dad's from the South too.)

Matthews was actually somewhat polite to Miller, more polite than I've ever seen, in fact. He actually paused to let Zell answer his question. But I think there were sound problems tonight - Matthews was on a busy street with loud traffic; Miller was in the loud convention hall w/music playing in the background. It appeared they couldn't hear each other talk.
I am no apologist for Matthews, but he seemed to want to make peace w/Zell after some difficulties. Normally I'd say he was wrong, but tonight, he actually seemed somewhat polite.

sorry, you might have gotten it wrong - he started shouting back at Miller when Zell mentioned his poor treatment of that "little lady"...and he DID look chastised after Zell yelled at him - he should be horse-whipped.
No way was Matthews polite to Zell.He was trying to defend Kerry's voting against the defense bill.Chris kept say something about starving children,and Zell asked him what he was talking about,that he never said anything about starving children tonight.Chris is just a waterboy for Kerry!If that is what he wants to be,fine.But don't pretend to be a journalist when you are not.

Well, among other things, he told him to get out of his face because he was not going to be treated like Matthews treated that young lady the other night, he told Matthews that he wished he could challenge him to a duel and then he got a little rough with Chris. Let's just say he gave Matthews the verbal horsewhipping he has long deserved. Oh yeah, Matthews tried to ask another question and Miller asked him if he was going to shut up after he asked the question and let him answer it. Matthews told him he would do so and he asked the question and actually shut his face and let Miller answer. I don't know if Chrissy will ever be quite the same again.
During the convention I watch MSNBC almost all the time.
I switch around to get the other opinions but find the panel on MSNBC more entertaining. I know, it's infuriating to watch. I am mad most of the time but O'Reilly bores me to tears and CNN is so pompous, Yes, Nora is pretty, but not too bright IMHO.
Zell told Chris that he wasnt going to let Chris walk all over him like he did that woman last week (Michelle Maulkin). He got even madder and said it was too bad that dueling was no longer legal or he would challenge him to a duel. It was great! Matthews was beside himself. Like in the Maulkin interview was Chris was trying to put words in Millers mouth and when he wouldnt stand for it, sparks flyed. Great live TV.
Part of the problem came from the fact they were blocks apart and the noise was so great that Miller thought Chris had made a comment saying that HE had voted to starve children and throw people off Medicare. All he was doing was pointing to the over the top metaphors the Dems use whenever a Republican wants to cut or reform any liberal program. Miller misunderstood and it went down hill quickly. If you thought Kerry got zingers from Zell, Chris got far worse!
With a conservative guest he tries to serve up hardballs by perpetually shouting over any response. With a liberal the game becomes whiffle ball. Generally it's a waste of time.
