Kerry Camp Roiled By Secret Clintonista Coup

Joe Lockhart, who Sen. Kerry picked
as his Senior Campaign Advisor after he
didn't pick him as his Senior Campaign
Advisor.
CNS News reports:
In a statement issued Thursday, the Kerry campaign said Rep. Dick Gephardt and Joe Lockhart, the campaign's new senior adviser, will hold a conference call with reporters to discuss the latest (economic) numbers.
New senior advisor? Interesting, considering the New York Times report from two days ago on September 1.
Several senior Kerry aides who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the addition of two former Clinton hands, Joel Johnson and Joe Lockhart, had improved both operations and the mood inside the campaign headquarters in Washington.
Mr. Johnson's role is to keep the communications team laser-focused on Mr. Kerry's core messages. Mr. Lockhart is to begin traveling with Mr. Kerry in Nashville and will work directly with reporters.
"There's not going to be a staff shakeup," Ms. Cutter said definitively. "We are building up the team with the best and the brightest to take us through the homestretch."
Mr. Lockhart added: "Any idea that the senior leadership of this campaign is about to be changed is just not true."
Only in the Kerry campaign is a "new senior adviser" not a "staff shakeup.
The Blogspirator figures it all depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is.
Interestingly, Lockhart served as a travelling press aide for the 1988 Dukakis/Bentsen race.... And also as Assistant Press Secretary for '84 Mondale/Ferraro and '80 Carter/Mondale.
The Blogspirator thinks it sounds like Kerry picked himself a winner...

I've always thought the Clintons were behind Kerry being a candidate. They want a weak candidate or (heaven forbid he actually pull off a win) a 1-termer at best. No Way Hitlery is going to wait til 2012.

The timing of the speech will depend on the new campaign charter carrier's schedule.
Lockhart has arranged a very favorable deal with Air Wellstone.

You really have entered a morass of truth inseparable from fiction when you start talking with campaign operatives about the world outside the campaign. When you listen to them speak about the inside game -the truth and falsehoods cancel themselves out. It is the audio equivalent of watching the hash pattern on a television tuned to a nonworking channel.
Keep rearranging the deck chairs, heck add Tony Coelho!

We all know that Hillary is waiting for 2008, so she will not have to take on an incumbent. Kerry was ignorant and arrogant enough to fall right into the Clinton's trap. They are playing him for the fool that he is. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clinton machine was the real source of uncovering the inconsistencies in Kerry's military record.

Funny how its going to take almost a full month to get a "major policy address" put together, yet this cat's been the presumptive nominee/nominee for the past 6 months and has aspirations to be POTUS since Vietnam. While Kerry licks his finger and sticks it in the air to determine which way the political winds are blowing, the President has laid out his agenda for the next 4 years and is already campaigning rigorously on it.

NO, Kerry's message is clear---"I'm rich and smart--and you're not. I'm an elite Ivy-Leaguer who's never worked a day in my life (except for getting a government paycheck)--and you're not. My wife is rich (and crazy)--and yours isn't. I speak French and own five homes--and you don't. And above all, I've won three Purple Hearts--and you haven't. And, by the way, mine doesn't stink....."
