It IS a serious operation. but remember when these things were extremely serious? People come out of bypass surgery in good shape nowadays.
To: jtminton
Wow, a quad. Well, he's luck they caught it before he had a heart attack. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Well, if it's not urgent, then he scheduled it for now. Why? Could it have anything to do with its keeping him from campaigning for their doofus nominee?

After 30 years of Hillary's cooking, I'm surprised he's lasted this long.
Hillary: "C'mon Bill, you've only had six burgers. You have room for one more, dont'cha? Anmd don't forget, lunch is at 11:30."

I've had a few trips to the hospital with chest pain. On one of my stays, I was sharing a room with a guy who had bypass surgery a FEW MONTHS previous. He was in constant pain needing morphene due to the damage done cutting his chest open just to do the bypass.

James F. Fixx (April 23, 1932 July 20, 1984) was the author of the 1977 best-selling book, The Complete Book of Running. Best known as Jim Fixx, he is credited with helping start America's fitness revolution, popularizing the sport of running and demonstrating the health benefits of regular jogging. In 1980 he published a follow up book titled Jim Fixx's Second Book of Running: The Companion Volume to The Complete Book of Running. In his books and on television talk shows he often talked about how he jogged an average of 60 miles every week on the basis that the physical exercise considerably increased the average human being's life expectancy. However he is principally remembered through comic routines by both Bill Hicks and Denis Leary pointing out that Fixx had failed to obey the first rule in all his books (consult your doctor) and so died, age 52, of a massive heart attack while jogging. The autopsy revealed that cholesterol had blocked one coronary artery almost 100%, a second 80%, and a third 70%.
I don't know how much jogging Clinton actually does, but the death rate has remained at one per person for quite a while. I'm not and never will be a fan of Willie's, but prayers for his recovery.

Actually, Bill and his loving press will pump this up into something big, but a third of the men in our church over 55 have had some bypasses done. They are usually home in three days. It used to be serious, now it's much more common than tonsilectomies or hysterectomies.
