Clinton to Undergo Heart Surgery in NY Hospital
Reuters ^ | 9/3/04

Posted on 09/03/2004 9:58:08 AM PDT by TexKat

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton has checked into a New York hospital and will undergo heart bypass surgery, U.S. networks reported on Friday.

ABC and CBS television reported that Clinton, 58, had checked into New York Presbyterian Hospital for quadruple heart bypass surgery.

A Democratic Party official told Reuters that Clinton had checked into the hospital with "chest pains." The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, could not confirm that Clinton would undergo bypass surgery.

CNN quoted a source close to the former president as saying the surgery could take place as early as Saturday.

Clinton, the 42nd U.S. president, promised at the Democratic convention in July to be a "foot soldier" in John Kerry's race against Republican President Bush.

Well, I for one, as much as I thought he was the wrong person to be president for this country, cannot wish Clinton ill will.
So, I'm wishing him well.

Well, one cannot help but wish him a speedy recovery and health.

I hope they give him a private room after the surgery. With a sink.

I guess it isn't a total surprise. He was a junk food junkie and he blew up in weight after he left office. It looks like he lost quite a bit over the past year--maybe he had a medical warning to do so.

I do not know enough yet to make that statement.

Yeah. I mean the man is a scoudrel, a BUM, and a scourge on all that's American. But I still wish him well. He can't get his heart right, and he can't get right with God, if he's dead. Then it's too late.

Well, Bill, I've got good news and bad news.

First, the bad news. Your fast food days are over.

Now the good news. You can still have your favorite snack (or at least the one that Gennifer Flowers says you ate like a champ). As far as I can tell, that's heart-healthy.

Get well soon, Bubba.

Everyone should say a prayer for the man, he is a former Pres.

On a lighter note: He probably developed the heart ailment over Pataki's comments on how his administration didn't do anything to prevent 9/11.

Anyway, here is my take on a conversation that may have happened or may occur because the leadership at the DNC is very sick:

KERRY: Hey Terry, I just heard a report Bill Clinton had a heart attack...
MCAULIFFE:Oh, No, really?
KERRY: Yea, I hope he pulls through...
MCAULIFFE: Yea, it would be a shame if he didn't...
KERRY: You seem pretty broken up about it. You must really feel for him.
MCAULIFFE: No, it's way to far off from the election to get any sympathy votes, so he has to hold on until late October. Then we'll blame the GOP for causing it.

I'm amazed his physicians did not spot this advanced blockage long ago.

Most people with heavy bucks are quite careful and aware of problems and have scheduled detailed checkups.

Bad habits and ignoring time and years can get you, using your noggin and horsesense and financial resources will usually help you have good healthy years and lifestyles beyond that of the average person.

Bipasses may reduce pain but are no guarantee your life will not be shortened.

Diet, exercise, chest, arm, and leg pains are not things to ignore or just take a painkiller or drink to cover up.

Never hated Slick Willie, just wanted him to move to Cuba or Ireland or China and disappear.

Hating is a lib thing anyway.

It eats them up.
