thanks for your input but I have another question how many of you "carriers" have been talked to or had a secound look by a cop or other trained personnel while wearing a "hidden"?

isn't it nice to take a break from the political stuff :)

If properly "hidden" then nobody knows.

Are you saying the holsters have imbedded microchips to tell our law "enforcement" officers that you are armed?

Good possibility - and nearly probable

Nope; its called a "concealed" carry permit.

"Concealed" - you know; not open to view, people don't see it.

I am a cop

Most people think it's a cell phone when they see a bulge under a shirt.

Because TX has a concealed carry law, I don't approach, I merely observe, unless they are in a place where weapons are prohibited.

I will tell you the one that's a dead giveaway-someone in jeans with a wallet and checkbook in the back pockets wearing a fanny pack

When I lived in NH in the mid 70's, you had to have a permit issued by local law and it was very easy to obtain if you had a clear record. Odd thing was, you had to carry openly. It was against statues to carry concealed.

I've spoken with cops while carrying and they never looked at me twice. You may feel as if it looks obvious, but it doesn't. Here in liberal Connecticut, I use a Milt Sparks, you should try it.

Us poor shlubs in Californai are subject to only the criminals having guns, thanks to Barbara Boxer and Dian Feinstien.

Drive by shooting all the time with no defense for the innocent.

BOUNCE BOXER NOW!

Don't forget the Banana Republic photographers vest, or the oversize Hawaii shirt look.

All of the police and most of the bad boys here know I carry a gun (with a permit) all the time. Nobody says sh** to me about it either.

in MN our law is often incorrectly called "concealed carry", but there's no crime in carrying openly either. It's just not the cultural norm here and IMO, not wise to flaunt it any way.
It was done this way so if your shirt were to ride up or something, you can't be charged with a crime for it.
I've never been stopped by a cop for the way I carry because
they never see it.

Check out Glock Talk for IWB (inside waistband) holster recommendations...and for Glock models that are least likely "to print"....

Check out the G26...uses the G17 or G19 magazines...soon flush 12 rounders will be available...plus one up the pipe ...or plus two mag extensions...in @10 days from now...

imo

A bellyband with a SS pistol is the best for summer carry I can wear shorts and a tee shirt and still conceal it...

True-I just wear an outer shirt, and don't worry too much about the bulge (Glock 22 in a Fobus Paddle) as I go back and forth to work

Keltec 380 on a clip in my pocket off duty

Just like anything else, if you worry about it, it happens.

You'd love the Kahr MK9.

They don't come much more discreet than that.

Funny you should mention a fanny pack. I wear one because I have had trouble with a wallet pressing on a nerve in my leg - left it numb. So I carry everything in a rather large fanny pouch.

I also wear the fanny pack on my side for easy access to my wallet, keys, cell phone etc. Though I do not carry, I have been asked more than a time or two.

Missed your first post about holsters, but there are a couple hoster makers I'd recommend:

Tucker Gunleather
Milt Sparks
DeSantis

These seem to be the "creme de la creme" amongst the CHL community. I carry a Tucker HF-1 with a full-size 1911.

WHY oh WHY do you feel compelled to post this Glock schlock on latest articles? Just because you are a newbie here doesn't mean that you aren't bound by the same etiquette the rest of us follow...And frankly one of the reason I come to FR is to talkj politics....not read blather that should be in the blog section

Occasionally I enjoy trying to spot people carrying "concealed". The pickings are slim here in NY, but under the proper circumstances I may say something to the guy like, dude your piece is printing. I get reactions ranging from "Thanks" to "F--- off", to "I'm a cop". Sometimes it's best to keep one's observations to oneself.

This is not even close to a true statement....You must live in LA where the chief of PD won't sign for anyone but a celeb's body guard to have a fire arm....Try some other part of the state and you (EXCEPT SF)will find a much different atmosphere
