"Wipe out Islam for world peace. The Koran demands your murder. Islam is terrorism.
Such were the words of an anonymous act of vandalism in Campustown. The graffiti left members of the local Muslim community aghast.
"I was just completely shocked," said Basil Mahayni, senior in political science. "We rarely ever see anything like that."
Members of the Muslim Student Association reported the vandalism after discovering it Aug. 20 on a picnic table at the corner of Chamberlain Street and Welch Avenue.
Saleh Tamim, general secretary of the Muslim Student Association, was among the group that reported the incident. Tamim said he found the words hurtful and baffling.
"It's really offensive," said Tamim, senior in engineering. "I don't know why somebody would write such a thing."
Tamim and Mahayni agreed such acts toward the Muslim community were rare in Ames. Tamim said he hasn't seen anything like this since he came to Ames in 2002.
Mahayni said his last experience with hate directed toward him as a Muslim was immediately after Sept. 11, 2001. He was walking with freinds when another student walked by.
"He told us to 'go drop a bomb on your own country,'" Mahayni said.
Ignorance exists, but people react to it differently, he said. Some act on it by asking questions to inform themselves, Mahayni said, while others choose to take their beliefs as fact and make blind statements.
Though Ames is an accepting community, Mahayni said, occasional expressions of hate indicate tolerance remains a work in progress.
"I think Ames is a very tolerant environment," Mahayni said. "But instances like this past week show we're not perfect and we do have a lot of work to do."
Several people will meet soon to plan a response, he said.
Cmdr. Jim Robinson of the Ames Police Department said the police currently have no suspects.
"As of this time, I don't believe there have been any witnesses or suspects that have come forward," Robinson said.
Vandalism is often a hard crime to investigate and prosecute, Robinson said. The police department has filed charges on some cases, though there have also been instances that no suspect was identified.
For now, officers will keep an especially close eye on the area, Robinson said.
Tamim said he hopes acts such as this don't ruin the community's pleasant atmosphere.
"I hope the Ames community continues to be as peaceful as before," he said.

"I dunno...it's not like they killed and raped fellow MUSLIMS! These people around here are WEIRD."

But curiously, no denunciation of terrorism carried
out in the name of Islam.
To repeat ...
One thing I find very telling, since 9/11, is that
"mainstream" Muslims have not even objected to the
damage being done to THEM by the islamicists.
They sometimes complain about secondary discrimination
by non-Muslims, but not a peep about the perps who
put them in this position.
The last time the world dealt with a terrorist
cult of death, the Thuggee Cult over century ago,
the entire cult was wiped out. Islam needs to keep
this in mind.
Of course he was stunned--usually Muslims, particularly of the Pali-obsessed sort--are the ones WRITING the hate graffiti.
Let's let this play out. Many of the so called graffiti hate crimes have been committed by the group being "hated." Of course this is okay because it is just a way to draw attention to their plight. The truth really doesn't matter.
If all of us here are so outraged by this, can you just imagine what Russians everywhere are feeling?

The message, "For a good time, call Susan!", was discovered on a bathroom wall.
You'll be seeing more than just words scrawled on a wall when muslims attack in similar fashion here in the U.S. again.

These are the very people who should be in the internment center. Right now.
They apparently think that america is so sensitive that words will bring the national guard in to kill the vandals for them.
Remember that this a campus newpaper. The stunned, pious outrage over a simple piece of graffiti, no worse than that directed at police or the military on campuses EVERY SINGLE DAY, is chilling evidence of just how far multi-cult Orwellianism has gone on in the academic community. The implicit assumption of a "hate crime," and of a major priority for police, show just how well-indoctrinated these multi-cult dhimmis are for censorship and repression.
Why in the hell would this "stun" anyone after what is happening in the world??? When "Islam" gets stunned, maybe I'll change my mind a little. Right now I don't see any of them doing any protesting to the violence.

Where did he find it...on a picnic table? Shoot there's nasty grafitti on every subject written on bathroom walls and public picnic tables everywhere all over the country. There's anti white graffitti, anti black, pro homo, anti homo, even stuff about yo' mama and yo' sista who will give you a good time if you call them!
The Muslims should feel honored...to be featured in graffitti here in America means that they have truly arrived on the American scene!
