Why such a fuss?

I always have appreciated a bit of sarcasm.

Still, at this level, Kerry's actions have been consistently appalling.

At the DNC convention, Bill Clinton suggested that Kerry volunteered willingly to go to Vietnam and face danger, saying "Send me!"
While a senior at Yale, Kerry asked his draft board for permission to study a year in Paris, which the draft board declined. A Slate article reported that Kerry wrote in a 1986 book,

"[The Swift Boats] were engaged in coastal patrolling and that's what I thought I was going to be doing. Although I wanted to see for myself what was going on, I didn't really want to get involved in the war."
--John Kerry timeline
Maybe he wasn't so enthusiastic?

MWUH-Hah-hah-hah-hah-haaa!
All that is needed is to show what Kerry was doing when, and how it relates to 'treason' and Constitutional law.

Who decides Kerry gave aid and comfort? A court?

On 18 Feb. 1966 John Kerry also signed an Officer Candidate contract for 6 years -- 5 years of ACTIVE duty & ACTIVE Naval Reserves, and 1 year of inactive standby reserves

Does this explain the 1978 discharge?

1966 + 6 years active + 5 years BNaval reserve + 1 year inactive reserve = 1978

" The question is whether Kerry was violating the UCMJ or federal statute by being involved in these activities while still serving in the Reserves and being subject to recall."

BINGO!

Not so fast. Bush has not signed an SF 180 either. He is releasing his own records just like Kerry.

Kerry was transferred into the Standby Inactive Reserve on July 1, 1972. A Navy board then decides when to drop officers from the reserves. They decided to separate Kerry from the Reserves per BUPERSMAN 3830.360 on Feb 16, 1972 and give him an honorable discharge.

Something similar happened to me. As a naval officer with a regular commission, I resigned from the Navy in 1972. I didn't receive my honorable discharge until Feb 16, 1978. I must have been before the same board as Kerry.

Tonk,
Did you read this post? What do you think? Several things caught my eye, but especially this: "The key question is, of course, is what caused the main letter to be written."

Very nice indeed... Don't think you'll be getting those from HIM however, leaving you, and the rest of us, only the alternative suggested below...

AS TO KERRY'S 'SERVICE', I am reminded of...

The True Meaning of the Word 'Service!'

At one time in my life, I thought I understood the meaning of the word "service." The act of doing things for other people.

...But then I heard the terms:
Internal Revenue Service
Postal Service
Civil Service
Service Stations
Customer Service
City/County Public Service

...And I became really confused about the word "service." This is not what I thought "service" meant.

Then one day, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them mentioned that he was having a bull service a few of his cows. WHAM!! It all came into perspective!

Now I understand what all those "service" agencies are doing to us.
