And wife Laura liked dope, says book GEORGE W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David, a new book claims. His wife Laura also allegedly tried cannabis in her youth. Author Kitty Kelley says in her biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, that the US President first used coke at university in the mid-1960s. She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either." Other acquaintances allege that as a 26-year-old National Guard, Bush "liked to sneak out back for a joint or into the bathroom for a line of cocaine". Bush has admitted being an alcoholic but, asked during the 1999 election if he did drugs, he said: "I've told the American people that years ago I made some mistakes. "I've learned from my mistakes and should I be fortunate enough to become president I will bring dignity and honour to the office." Later an aide clarified his remarks saying Bush hadn't taken illegal drugs in the past 25 years. Kelley says that the Bush family covered up scandals because of their wealth and influence. She claims George W started drinking at school and continued at Yale university to overcome shyness. Former student Torbery George says in the book: "Poor Georgie. He couldn't relate to women unless he was loaded." Another says: "He went out of his way to act crude. It's amazing someone you held in such low esteem later became president." His supporters have slammed the allegations as outrageous. The White House said: "This book appears to be filled with the same trash discredited years ago." -BILL Clinton has joked he will try to be happy about his heart bypass operation. The ex-president said on his website: "This sure isn't how we planned to spend Labor Day weekend but we're doing our best to enjoy it."BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID'
Here's a prediction. The Kerry campaign will claim that Bush didn't take the flight physical because the urine test would show he used drugs.

Lame is only the tip of the ice berg. Stories like this are nothing but an act of despiration. Kerry loses everytime on the issues so his minions much cause doubt in GWB's character. Almost like a lawyer in a court room. It will fail with GWB because of the bigger picture, the War on Terror. In peaceful times this might matter. In the time where leftist actors as in Ron Silver, democratic ex-NYC mayors as in Ed Koch, currently sitting democrat senator as in Zell Miller and recent bitter rivals as in John McCain openly support the opposition the rules are different. Kerry is cluelss to this nuance.

If I'm not mistaken, Sharon Bush was shown to have falsely accused her ex-husband Neil of fathering a child out of wedlock.
This has nothing to do with the 2004 election. This is an indication of what the next four years will be like. Having conceded the election to Bush, their goal will be to make sure that by the time his second term is over his reputation will be trashed.
This book will have no significance whatsoever. It might get a day or two of coverage and then dropped like a hot brick.
W's campaign is ready for this.
I would like to offer a talking point/rebuttal. Everyone has things in their past they are ashamed of. The difference is President Bush learns from his experiences and mistakes. John Kerry doesn't. He has never admitted to or apologized for anything in his past. Who would you prefer to lead our nation someone who can grow and mature or someone who still reacts to things as a juvenile?
Aren't they mainly for the free use of drugs? I'll admit, in my youth I did illegal drugs. Millions did. It's not something we wear like a badge of honor. We grew up. We matured. We reconciled ourselves with adult ways.
In any event, only the most partisan and anal retentive will give any such charges the slightest bit of weight or dignity. It's either desperate lies and innuendo to try and derail the Bush campaign, or it's a final shot to the collective brain stem of the Kerry campaign.

What evidence (a 'Rats Rat word) does she have of this? It should be in the form of a dated video with sound or a written signed statement. I have never heard or seen either. Every person who stops drinking because they see it leading them in negative ways is not an alcoholic. Even if he is but no longer drinks, so what?

This sort of thing might have worked 4 years ago, before he'd proven himself in office. This is probably complete fabrication, but say it were true, who cares?
You can't slide by in the Presidency as Kerry has slid by as a Senator, without dire consequences (i.e. 9/11, a direct consequence of Clinton's failure). Bush has proven himself, Kerry hasn't.

Kerry's only hope is to shout as loud as he can, "I don't know her! I hate her! She's a lunatic!"
Instead, he'll probably say, "These are serious charges which need full investigation..."
And voters will run away from him in droves!
It's another tactic that the left uses ad nauseum. Hook you on something they say is ok but that they think your supporters will condemn. It's like saying "Oh, you say your so moral but you've done the same things I have. Thou hypocrite." Hypocrisy is the only moral failing they care about. The answer, of course, is that I never claimed to be perfect, just forgiven.
