Mohammed Atta wanted to fight in Chechnya

After lurking for years, my first post.

I've been puzzled by the mainstream media's reticence to link Al Qaeda with the Chechen "separatists" who committed the bloody atrocity this week in the Russian school. Why?

As I noted on my blog (Partisan NewsJunkie) today, both Richard Clarke's book "Against All Enemies" and the "9/11 Commission Report" make the link between Al Qeada and Chechnya. In fact, I read yesterday in the Commission report that Mohammed Atta, leader of the 9/11 attacks, and his friends tried to enlist to fight in Chechnya!

"...they had formed a close-knit group as students in Hamburg, Germany. The new recruits had come to Afghanistan to wage jihad in Chechnya. But al Qaeda quickly recognized their potential and elisted them in its anti-U.S. jihad." pg 160

(I don't know if that's been posted before.)

Why is the media downplaying the Al Qeada - Chechnya connection? How does that help our national security?

The Leftist media doesn't want the "masses of asses" to realize what the situation really is in terms of the world wide Islamic Jihad. When not distracting people with junk news, they cover up the truth with terms like, "insurgents" and "separatists." They covered up the Muslim terrorist "Beltway Sniper" attacks by saying the shootings were motivated by money, when in truth it was part of the Muslim Nationalist war on Infidels.

You should in my opinion post more often.

I just reviewed your FR posting history.

I also read Buchanan's "Death of the West" in a very short time. I found it to be brilliant. I expect his new book might be as well. I'll have to read it first to be certain.

Thanks for the kind words. I was thinking that this would get more comment, given the terrorist situation in Russia. Was it because it was a holiday, or not a substantial story?

Nice job, NJ. I've been posting on every thread I have the stomach to read about the Russia atrocity that these are not "Chechen separatists" or "militants", but are Islamic Terrorists. I mentioned on several threads that even the "bi-partisan" 9/11 Commission Report openly discussed the clear link between AQ and Chechnya. There's no mystery, these terrorists ARE part of the worldwide Islamic Jihad. All we can do is keep getting the word out, and I think the 9/11 Commission Report is a good tool to use.

Have you read Mark Steyn's latest? If not, it's a gem, pretty much calling out the media for hiding the origins of the Beslan islamo-jihadists.

Okay. You got me motivated to post more often instead of just lurking. It's kind of fun! I posted again today: "Cheney misquoted by Press Herd".

By the way, is it okay to post info from my own blog here as the basis for my posts? Or is that an abuse of FR etiquette?
