Why would he need a gun at the debates?
Who would he shoot?
What is he suggesting!!??
Were this the other way around, the MSM would be frothing to report this and demand a retraction.

Get a life everyone, it was a joke.
He didn't threaten the President, in fact he was sbemoaning the fact that he couldn't use it.
If you interpret his comment correctly you will see that he was inadvertantly conceding that he needs massive help to beat Bush.

I recall in the primaries that his handlers said (anonymously, of course) that kerry said flat stupid things when he got tired; the 87 billion dollar comment was an example. I wonder if he thinks that running for president is NOT exhausting? this guy is road kill.

Wil, I think it's YOU who need to get a life if you can't tell sarcasm without a tag.. what everyone is pointing to here is the outrageous headlines that would appear if Bush had said the exact same thing.. you know it's true. The liberal press and networks would be saying that Bush made a death threat against Kerry.

Yes, he does need massive help, and apparently he's joking about using the gun to remove Bush from the equation during the debate. Bemoaning the fact that his secret dreams would be to use the gun to kill someone.
If he didn't mean it as I understood it he should have considered the consequences of his visual.
Bush uses tax code books to get his point across of his future plans. Kerry uses a gun...there's something wrong with this picture.

The real problem with stupid comments like this is that it makes actual reference to possible violence to the President.
In this day and age, that's not smart. Some might even say it's intentional.
That's how it works with Manchurian Candidates.
