Call the CBS Evening News Desk at
(212)975-3691
A Dan Rather flunky will answer.
Ask them why they do not interview the Swift Boat Vets
Ask them why they do not mention Barnes is the top Kerry campaign contributor
Ask them why they keep attacking President Bush
They think we are stupid and can get away with this weekly Kerry campaign commercials.
E-mail...

I just called and got some REALLY stupid sounding guy. He just kept saying "Uh-huh", and then said thank you and hung up.
Won't help. CBSNBCABCCNN are just like the terrorists. We do not negotiate with them - We kill them with our remotes.
Called and got what sounded like a 17 yr old bimbette, didn't have a clue about anything. Suggested I put my complaint in writing.
This media would slant the news and reporting to the views and opinions of the soviet leaders. We called it outrageous, keeping the truth from the people, perpetuating the lies about the West.
So, how is the so-called main stream media of today in the USA any different?
I called, told them I was wondering why they were passing off a Kerry fundraiser as legitimate news, and then said it is quite obvious that Dan Rather has gone off the deep end and was basically working as a Kerry operative.
The woman I was talking to laughed with me, not at me, and said she would pass my comments along.
ROUNDS DOWN RANGE!
1. Why do YOU refuse to interview the Swift Boat Vets?
2. Why do YOU refuse to mention that Barnes is the top Kerry campaign contributor?
3. Why do YOU keep attacking President Bush eventhough Kerry has serious issues?
4. Why are YOU not asking SERIOUS questions about the Sandy Berger thefts of classified material?
5. Why did YOU help to sweep Bergergate UNDER the rug?
Thank you very much for your dedicated support to the Kerry campaign.
We are greatly indebted to CBS and 60 Minutes for helping defeat Bush.
May I also suggest you dedicate more of the news hour every day to coverage of Kerry?
However - it is imperative you please relieve Dan Rather of his duties - everybody knows he's biased in favor of Democrats so he really has no credibility any more and you're wasting this interview tonight.
HAVE NOT watched an alphabet news source in YEARS!
I don't expect a sudden momnet of realization for CBS.
I want to jam their newroom with complaints and just make it a tough day on the CBS/Kerry workers.
Try calling and say you would like see an the swift vets so the public can get both sides of the story.
The LA Slimes discounted this story a year ago!

My email to them
To: CBS News
Will the interview with Ben Barnes tonight on 60 Minutes II lead off with a preface that Mr. Barnes is a Co Chairman of the Kerry campaign?
Will you tell your viewers that Mr. Barnes is one of the top three individual donors to the Kerry campaign?
Will you tell your viewers that Mr. Barnes has sworn under oath that he was never under any pressure to help President Bush enter the National Guard?
I await your response.
Thank you,
I hear you plan to run an interview with Ben Barnes on 60 Minutes II tonigt. I'm sure you won't make any effort to point out that Barnes is closely connected to the Kerry campaign, is a partisan Democrat, and has had his story totally discredited since he tried to pawn it off on the media in 1999. Here's the facts from the Republican viewpoint:
http://www.gop.com/RNCResearch/Read.aspx?ID=4625
I'm expecting you to give equal time to the issues raised by the GOP.
By the way, I'm looking forward to you doing an equally revealling look into the issues raised by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and in joining the rest of the media in demanding that Kerry sign a Form 180 and release all of his military records. I haven't seen any documentation that Kerry actually performed his reserve duty in the 71-74 time frame. Please forward me the documents that you have that prove that Kerry served out his military requirements while condemning his fellow veterans and meeting with the North Vietnamese in Paris.
"Back in the old days of the Soviet Union (and still happening today in many parts of the world) one of the things we here in the USA harped on was the indoctrination going on through the state controlled media.
This media would slant the news and reporting to the views and opinions of the soviet leaders. We called it outrageous, keeping the truth from the people, perpetuating the lies about the West.
So, how is the so-called main stream media of today in the USA any different?"
It's no different.
I remember TV ads in the early 1960's for Radio Free Europe. The person doing the voiceover mentioned the names of the Soviet bloc countries while the camera panned back on a picture of a child with chains wrapped around his head.
I never, ever, watch the networks for anything -- not entertainment, not sports, not "news." The only good reason I can think of to watch them is to find out what the enemy is up to. To that I might add one other reason -- to see who is sponsoring these programs so I can let them know that I won't buying their stuff. But to watch them expecting to get anything of value?? Fuggetaboutit.
I just spoke to one who sounded a little older. I perceive that they are being bombarded with phone calls. She asked that I submit my comments and suggestions to the following e-mail address: evening@cbsnews.com.
BUMP that!

what you said yesterday
Calling CBS will do very little or nothing. Calling CBS's advertisers is the way to send a message.
My letter to CBS:
Upon hearing of your forthcoming interview with a Mr. Barnes who will claim to have
helped the Bush family secure a place in the Texas Air National Guard, I was wondering
why you would not extend the same courtesy to the Swift Boat Vets for Truth. Some
argue that one of the contributors to the Swift Boat Vets also donated to the Bush
campaign, yet Mr. Barnes is one of the largest donors to the Kerry campaign, (fourth
highest individual donor.) Among the Swift Boat vets are over 60 people who served
directly with Kerry, including Kerry's own commanding officer. The charges they
present seem much more of a reflection of a person's character than which field
of service that one joins. I would hope that one points out that Kerry also sought
the same 'out' of service by originally joining the Navy Reserves.
By not interviewing the Swift Boat vets or other critics of Kerry, it is becoming
obvious that you don't care about hard hitting journalism, but instead of a bias
against the current administration. I have no problem with the interview with Barnes.
What I take issue with is the extreme slant against President Bush, ignoring some
great journalistic opportunities with those who make similar, if not more serous
charges against Kerry.
I never believed in the old statements about a liberal media, however, CBS's obvious
bias has me considering there is truth in the stereotype.
I would hope that CBS looks at both sides of an issue, giving all charges their
proper time. I, for one, will reconsider watching any CBS program that does not
provide this balance, and if this imbalance continues, I will TIVO out all of your
sponsors if I happen to watch any shows on your network. Be sure to note, that
I am copying all of your major sponsors on this, and I am encouraging everyone I
know to pass along the information about who CBS' sponsors are, and how to black
out advertising by these sponsors until we see more balanced coverage from your
network.
If anything, consider the financial gain you would have in opening up your shows
to a wider audience. Fox News has learned that if it shows both sides of an issue,
their ratings will grow. Maybe CBS can learn the same lesson.
This media would slant the news and reporting to the views and opinions of the soviet leaders. We called it outrageous, keeping the truth from the people, perpetuating the lies about the West. So, how is the so-called main stream media of today in the USA any different?
The big and crucial difference is that in the U.S., the media clearly aren't state-controlled, or they'd likely be a lot nicer to the current administration. Here, they're mostly just big businesses that produce news in the same way that other corporations produce beer or shoe polish--which means that, unlike state-controlled media, they can be opposed, argued with, boycotted, and generally kicked in the financial @ss if they get out of line. They may not listen to reason, conscience or morality, but, like most whores, they're sensitive to income, and will do whatever it takes to get more, or keep what they got.
Here's my email:
Dear CBS,
Why won't you interview the Swift Boat Vets?
Why hasn't CBS mentioned that Barnes is a top Kerry campaign contributor?
Why does CBS continue to attack President Bush? He's done nothing wrong.
Why is CBS engaging in propaganda against a sitting president?
How many viewers is CBS willing to sacrifice?
How does CBS intend to re-establish it's credibility?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
A Concerned Voter
Need to also think about going after Viacom which owns CBS
bump to annoy the "unbias" liberal media. Be polite but persistant. :D
Considering posting complaint letters on PlanetFeedback.com and Epinions.com.
This way it will reach a wider audience than just the network.
Actually killing them with your remote achieves nothing unless you have Nielsen ratings box. Although contact their advertisers, well now that's something that tends to get them to be more receptive to your demands for fairness.
Massive contacts to SeeBS advertisers was how we got them to pull "The Reagans." This works, we need to do it again!!!
Do we have a list of the advertizers for CBS?
I am ready to boycott them and tell them why.
I've been following politics a long time and what Kerry just started to do indicates he knows he is about to get hard. Just my opinion.
I sure hope you left out a word. :)
Barnes, as in Ben Barnes, former Democrat Texas Lt. Governor Ben Barnes? Ben Barnes who claims "I got a young man named George W. Bush into the National Guard when I was lieutenant governor of Texas", not realizing that President Bush joined the National Guard in 1968 when Barnes wasn't elected to office until 1969?
What did Kerry just start to do?
I was distracted by this.
Which, if Kerry saw, might make my bad typing true?
I recall reading Dan Rather's book on his life (he is very much a self important blowhard IMO in the book).
Dan Rather enlisted in the Marine Corps but only a few days into Boot Camp it was "Discovered" he had scarlet fever as a child and discharged according to his book.
Shouldn't someone ask Dan why he didn't serve out his commitment or did he lie either on his application about not having Scarlet Fever or later about having it.
Make Dan Rather so embarressed about his own military record that he has to lay off Bush.
I don't blame you. But as for Lurch, that would still be information overload :)
Plus, he doesn't have that kind of luck!
The poor girl at CBS could only anwer that she would "pass along" my comments--but I am SOOOO angry about this blatant CB(ias)S! Can someone please post a link to send an e-mail?
Thanks!!! (BTW--I used to post as Milagro but lost my password, and in frustration re-registered the day before Jim Rob e-mailed my password to me. Patience has never been one of my virtues!!)
I just called and talked to some young woman who said " I have no comment, I'll pass on your comments to our producers."
I called them and the lady who answered the phone said do not say yall. She said she only works for them. I said, I would get a different job, she asked what I did. Anyway, I told her that I would like her to pass on that their programming is not welcome in my home and I will contact their advertisors.
I will be contacting the advertisors.. and I contacted them. Yes, it does help for them to hear from us. They are blinded by what keeps them on the air. I also informed them that FoxNews is always on at my house and they might learn from them and become fair and balanced instead of UNBALANCED AND BIASED TOWARDS THE LEFT.
I sent it to all on my email list with the phone numbers. I suggest you all do the same...... It only takes a spark to get a fire going......
