Even if no terrorist had thought of taking over a school here on their own, the wide coverage of the event in Russia will inspire copy-cats.
Just as the Columbine tragedy did.
The BS law against having firearms within a thousand yards of a school was already overturned once, time to do it again!
The only real answer to the terrorist is a constantly armed and ready populace, at every possible venue.

Don't know.
He took the bus from Boston to avoid the extra scrutiny at airports.
And, did he have something with him that he couldn't take on the plane? Also, why was he sleeping in the alley when he had $3,000 in cash?
I view him as a courier to deliver 'things' and $3,000 in cash. An 18 year old would not have been trusted with much more responsibility than that, he's 'small-fry' in the larger picture.

Too bad they let the media go to print on this. The FBI should have covertly put tracking devices on this mule and have the local cops turn him loose (with a lot of covert surveillance) and see where he goes and who he meets up with. I bet he was an al Qaeda sleeper sent to procure weapons for other al Qaeda agents coming across the boarder somewhere near McAllen.
One hopes that INS/Homeland Security is watching the boarder near McAllen and the surrounding area for suspicious activity (stolen cars, other pawn shops or gun shops being burglered, car-jackings, murders, etc.) for patterns showing incoming terrorists. But then again, how could they determine a difference from the usual crimes committed by uninvited guests from across the Southern boarder? :(

No kidding, it sucks. Why bother picking them up at all.
This was just on the matrix thread:

Isn't McAllen where the Muslim woman was detained a month or two ago?
Holy Cow, Yes! She was arrested at McAllen Airport.

I don't know if you're serious or not, but if you're asking a serious question; then yes, Google can be a useful research tool.

Answer No. 2...I did not learn anything of interest regarding the suspect arrested; however the results change as more data is collected and the search engine picks up more information via their spiders.

The interesting part is that he didn't spend the $3,000 on the vest/ammo/guns/computer, but chose to steal them from the pawn shop.
So yes, I agree with you that he was supposed to deliver the $3,000 to someone down there in addition to delivering the guns/ammo/computer.
That's too much to task to one 18 year old kid, though. It shows that they are short on both manpower and leadership.
...And that shortage of manpower and leadership means that they will *either* hit very soft targets or have operations that fail spectacularly.

I'm about twenty miles from McAllen. It's a wide open corridor.
