WASHINGTON - When Vietnam veterans rally on Capitol Hill against Sen. John Kerry's antiwar activities this weekend, John Tabarrini of Moreno Valley will be among them.
"He testified that we were all basically war criminals," said Tabarrini, who served in the air wing of the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1972 to 1973. "And I have a problem with that."
Kerry testified before a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing after returning home from Vietnam. He told the panel that U.S. soldiers had been involved in a series of atrocities during the war, including rape and the random killing of civilians.
Tabarrini, 53, said he has no qualms about Kerry's service; it's what happened when Kerry got home that bugs him. He said he had not seen any war atrocities and felt that Kerry's comments about those who fought were just not right.
Tabarrini will join the group "Vietnam Vets for the Truth" at a rally on Sunday afternoon on Capitol Hill.
"This is important," said Tabarrini. "I want to go and support myself and the rest of the guys that went to Vietnam. Everybody was trying to do their jobs the best they could and come back to live their lives."
Vietnam Vets for the Truth is not a front for the Bush campaign, said its president, John Bailey, a retired Navy Seal. Kerry campaign aides said the senator was vocal about what he felt was an unjust war and was trying to do what he could to stop it.
In the end, the campaign believes groups on the sidelines will not influence voters, said Luis Vizcaino, a spokesman for the Kerry campaign.
Kudos to the Vets against Kerry.
I wasn't even born when Vietnam happened, but i'm for
the Vets against kerry all the way. If I ever had to go fight for this country I would hope our people would be for us instead of talking shit about us like the stupid media and the stupid hollywood fakes. Wait, the media does treat everyone like they are stupid.
There should be consequences when these stupid "stars" misuse their celebrity status. BTW is Fonda dead yet?
Kerry should be tried, but at the very least he should apologize to the vets.
Maybe someone can find Al Hubbard and do a "Where is he now?" [a "free press" would've been on that by now, wouldn't it?]
We could ask the commie Hubbard to join Kerry on the campaign trail as one of his "band of brothers"
Go get him monsters! May God be with you!
Just keep on believing that Kerry.
Ah yes; groups on the sideline - We Vietnam Vets have always been the "group on the sideline". While we were in Vietnam in combat, the majority of our contemporaries continued their educations, their careers, and their families. When we came home, we were often reviled (thanks to John Kerry and Jane Fonda and the others like them that supported the enemy and the enemy's version of history) and we were almost universally ignored.
Well, guess what - we aren't on the sidelines anymore, are we? See you in DC, John!

....should be our mantra until he releases ALL his service records. W has already done it -- what's wrong with Jacques?
And, W has already said OK for his, so one would suppose there's nothing 'deadly' in his. Also, W is NOT basing his candidacy on this issue, so there's a lot less jeopardy here for him than for Jean-Fraude Kerry.
Good luck at the Rally. Be safe up there.
Veterans
You were used.
You were used by John Kerry to gain name recognition,
so he could win elected office from Massachusetts.
Worked there, then.
What he did then, won't work today, nationwide.
.....
For any Marines that show up, you should give a photocopy
of the cover of Kerry's book 'The New Soldier' to
these Marines, and the take them on a bus visit
to the Marine Corps War Memorial.
bump
the September 12th Vietnam Vets for the Truth march on the Mall is going to be a huge success.
I sure hope it'll be historic too. NO ONE WITH sKERRY'S HISTORY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO EVEN RUN FOR PRESIDENT!!!
We could ask the commie Hubbard to join Kerry on the campaign trail as one of his "band of brothers"
No need, he has this jewel.
John Kerry veteran's organizer, long time friend and political adviser lived in Hanoi for five years in the 1990s. He testified that American troops skinned and crucified Vietnamese in the 1960s and joined Kerry at the infamous 1971 (FBI files confirmed) meeting of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War executive committee in which they discussed and voted on the assassination of U.S. senators. A real piece of work is this Joe Bangertlad lad for Kerry.

The following are instructions to make a KERRY SPITBALL DEFENSE INITIATIVE Badge (KDSI Badge) to salute the Keynote Address of Senator Zell Miller at the Republican National Convention on September 1, 2004, attacking Sen. Kerry's 20 year voting record against all major defense programs. The speech included the following:
"[Sen Kerry] is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces?
U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs? "
KDSI BADGE MAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1
Take a piece of paper the size of a name tag and type or handwrite the following:
KSDI
KERRY
SPITBALL
DEFENSE
INITIATIVE
Step 2
Take a piece of colored paper approximately 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch and wad it into a ball, replicating a typical spitball. Take some Rubber Cement or other adhesive and glue the paper ball to the right side of the badge.
Step 3
Purchase a BadgeMate or other plastic container and place the KSDI card including spitball inside the plastic container.
Wear the KSDI Badge to remind all voters that if John Kerry's "no" votes had carried the day, the United States would have little more than spitballs to defend itself and all freedom loving peoples of the world.
