Heinz Kerry: Opponents of health care plan are 'idiots'
CentreDaily.com ^ | 9/09/04 | AP

Posted on 09/09/2004 3:49:42 AM PDT by kattracks

LANCASTER, Pa. - Teresa Heinz Kerry said Wednesday that "only an idiot" would fail to support her husband's health care plan.

"Of course, there are idiots," Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, told the (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal for Thursday's editions.

Kerry's proposal includes health care subsidies for children, the unemployed, small companies and more; and government assistance to insurers and employers that keep premiums for workers down.

If Kerry is elected, Heinz Kerry predicted that opponents of his health care plan would be voted out of office. "Only an idiot wouldn't like this," she said.

Heinz Kerry stumped in Lancaster, Harrisburg and York on Wednesday, the third day of a four-day campaign swing Pennsylvania.

"I don't have to sell it - the people want it," Heinz Kerry said of the health plan. "The common man doesn't look at me as some rich witch. I talk about what I see. It has always been so. You judge people not by their pocketbook but by their actions. Walk the walk."

Tereeza...When is the last time you worked at a clinic? And how does one pay for everything? The only place it will come from is MY pocket and others like me.

I'm paying my own medical. I do not have illegitimate children, do not do drugs, am not an alchoholic.

I work my little butt off and yes, when I needed extra money, I got a second job and it was menial work but so what. It enabled me to do my duty and meet my obligations.

I couldn't agree more-even with all the money her family had, and all the money she married into at least one aspect of her education was obviously neglected-common, everyday good manners-what a condescending bitch.

OK, tis the walk of a socialist who would undermine the effectiveness of the Healthcare system in the U.S.

Tis the walk of someone too stupid to recognize the difference.

Tis the walk of a family that paid 12% income tax last year, while complaining that someone making 4% of their income should pay 38% tax.

Ketchup queen crawled out of her hole for this prolamation? Zero understanding of the political system on a national level. Zero persuasive skills. First Lady material? Nuanced diplomacy? About on par with hubby's reference to the "coalition of the coerced and bribed".

What are the odds of a woman from Africa marrying TWO U.S.Senators. The first got her the money, the second to get her the power! This woman is very DANGEROUS. I hope someone is watching for large transfers to Kerry's Kingdom!

CLINTONCARE VS. CLINTON'S CARE

Had America had followed his lead 10 years ago, President Clinton might not have been able to get his diagnosis and surgery appointment so quickly. Instead of waiting overnight for an appointment with a cardiologist, he might have had to wait the 3.4 weeks Canadians do. Instead of waiting three days for quadruple bypass surgery, he might have had to wait more than two weeks.

Instead of receiving care from what Sen. Clinton called "one of the great hospitals in the world," President Clinton might be looking for a safety valve.

Since the Clinton health plan was defeated, untold patients have been aided because America's health-care system, whatever its faults, was not subjected to the shortages and waiting lines that plague other nations.

But the future is less certain. Sen. John F. Kerry is aggressively promoting his $1 trillion health-care plan, which borrows heavily from the Clinton plan. Kerry too seems to believe that having government issue a paper guarantee of "coverage" is the same thing as having access to medical care.

Well, Teresa can take her Billion dollars and buy health insurance for every uninsured American child for the next 10 years, and still have enough money left over that she could never spend it all. Would that qualify as "Walking the walk"?

The "common man"? That pretty much sums up the attitude of the Kerry clan about their aristocratic status relative to the rest of the peasant rabble in the country, doesn't it?

Yeah, that's what you want to hear when a group is wooing your vote, 'agree with us or you're an idiot'.

This woman is not suitable to be First Lady. She apparently thinks she is talking "straight talk" but she sounds like what she is...a vulgar colonial African who lucked out and married a rich American.

You nailed it, Miss Marple. She sure isn't a Laura Bush (the absolute best First Lady) or even a Jackie Kennedy. It's hard to think of a First Lady, potential or actual, who is or was as abrasive and seemingly unsuitable. (Hillary wasn't really a 'First Lady' as much as co-president, but she certainly rubbed people the wrong way.)
