Iraqi prime minister says they have captured four important al-Qaida suspects Thursday, September 9, 2004 Iraqi forces have captured four "important" suspects from Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network, Iraq's interim prime minister said Thursday. Speaking during a visit to an Iraqi training camp north of Baghdad, Ayad Allawi told recruits that the four "important suspects of al-Qaida who came from abroad" were arrested Wednesday but he did not say where or how. Allawi said he hoped more would be captured soon. His remarks were broadcast by the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya satellite television station. The Iraqi government has accused al-Qaida-linked suspects, such as Jordanian-born militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, of being behind many of the attacks that have left hundreds dead in the past 16 months.

but Kerry said al-Quaida has nothing to do with Iraq??
Exactly. Some faux freepers say that Iraq has nothing to do with AQ either. It's the easiest way to detect DNC plants. LOL
Lifers.
I am still cautious after the al Douri non capture..Good news, if true.
Deathers.
Could this be Zarqawi?
I got so into the al Douri capture, non capture..I await the names and confirmation!..Zarqawi would be announced if caught.
And at least one FReeper repeatedly makes that charge about "faux FReepers" and, when challenged to provide one single instance where that statement is made, comes up as dry as Cheney's wit.
Just as an aside, how great would it be if Bin Laden somehow found his way to Iraq only to be captured there. Although it would probably gurantee non-stop MSM coverage of Bush attendence in the Cub Scouts.
I hope it's true but I don't trust anything unless it comes from the American military. Who are the four Al Qaeda? What's the big secret?
Don't want to let the other AQ terrorists know WHO was captured...that's not the way it should work.
This should be kept secret for as long as possible.
Yes, and by announcing that they have four (but nameless) it causes AQ and their pals to have to regroup just in case, redo all their secret codes or whatever, change communications, move their hideouts (and when they are moving, they could be caught), etc.
Better than keeping it completely secret. LOL
Personally, I'm not into capturing these bastards...
I would prefer that their deaths were announced...and the corpses hung in the square for confirmation...

Have we heard anymore on al-Dhouri?
Oh, I don't mind capturing them. Torturing the sh!t out of them to get information. Then hang them.
Abdullah Ahmed is treated by a doctor as a hospital guard watches in Mosul, Iraq, Thursday Sept. 9, 2004. According to those who brought Ahmed to the hospital, he was shot by an U.S. sniper at Tal Afar, a northern city near the border with Syria. The U.S. military said 57 insurgents were killed there in an operation intended to return the city 30 miles west of Mosul to control of the interim Iraqi government. At least a dozen civilians were also killed in the attack, Iraq's Interior Ministry said. (AP Photo/Mohammed Ibrahim)
