Is this one of the documents? Note that the header and signature are in different typefaces. Note the body of the copy is not monospaced but looks like computer type.

If one had the original doc you can see that different keys on a typewriter have different flaws. That's why in the detective novels they can test a typewriter to see which machine was used to type a particular document. Not the case with computers.

I'd be willing to bet that whoever "did" this document is some young smartarse who doesn't remember life before computers, and has never seen a typewriter.

Not me, I'm still adapting...

In fairness, memos entitled, "CYA" probably didn't always get serial numbers. *smirk*

When the teacher would hand out a stack of purplish hot-off-the-presses dittos... and the entire class would put them up to their noses and take a good sniff.

I loved the smell of dittos in the morning! These kids today just don't know what they're missing.

Some say that these forgeries came from the Boston Globe.

BOSTON GLOBE PUBLISHED KNOWN-BY THE GLOBE-TO-BE-FROM-PORN-SITES PHOTOS:

The Boston Globe KNEW the pics were porn, knew they were from a porn site frequented by Boston Globe reporters,
and knew they were held by an admitted racist who segregates whites from meetings,
and outrageously and odiously said they were from "credible" sources.
The Boston Globe KNEW lies were being published so as to result in murders of Americans.

The proterrorist writers at the Boston Globe KNEW exactly what they were doing.

This latest lie against AMERICA was from none other than the bow-tied home of liar Jayson Blair =====> The Boston Globe.

More examples?

From The Boston Globe's (and New York Times') own wars against the War for Enduring Freedom.

Turkish bombings, including that of the HSBC bank murdering a dozen people and wounding scores,
directly resulted from smears in the Boston Globe used to demean America and incite terrorists.
The Boston Globe front page article claimed the American liberation of Iraq from the murderous Saddam was a "rape".

Jeeze- you're talkin about a clerk-typist. And those old manual typewriters had a key to allow you to type through the pre-set right margin stop. And considering that it was just a memo...

CBS faxed the docs to the White House. Your theory would have them faxing a reproduction? I don't think so.

Darn. I don't think I can keep up the charade about being 39 years old still.

And CBS is to blame!

The zip appears legit. The document from Bush's records appears to verify the address. I thought that P.O. Box 34567 looked funny, too, but it looks okay, too.

If you read the body, I'm sure you can determine that this is not a real document. the header and the signature were taken from one of the other "real" documents.

If you type like I do, you whack a Selectric. :^) Doesn't do anything, but it feels better.

It was hard to adjust from the manual Remington I had as a Pfc to the new IBM selectric. My fingers didn't know what to do, not having to pound the keys so hard.

This whole thing is the fabrication of a dufus who probably never laid his fingers on a typewriter. I got off AD in 1973 and joined a Reserve unit. I think they had one electric typewriter at HQS....the rest were all manual. I strongly suspect the President's ANG unit was the same. I noticed that his serial number was followed by the initials NG...which is correct...with one exception our serial numbers always was preceded by those letters NG for Guard...FV for reserve officer and FR for Officer who held regular commissions. Dates were always stated as a continued series of date, month (3 ltr abbreviation), and year. They were never stated any other way and for single digit expressions the "0" was never used 4May1973 or alternatively 4May73... CBS and Dan Rather should be out of business after this blatant attempt at deceit.

"...Air Force docs are all in courier or some similar non-proportional pitch."

This one is easy! I posted in another subject that anyone can pull from their records an order from the same ANG and date. Doesn't everyone keep a copy of their military records? I have found that they answered more than one question.
