Apparently he's somewhat friendly with rush, and he and Dennis miller gushed over how great a writer peggy noonan is one night on the air.

I was just watching the end of the New England-Indianapolis game, right after Edgerrin James had fumbled away Indy's chance to win.
Anyways, John Madden was going on about something or other and he ended a sentence by saying "...a flip-flop."
Al Michaels, obviously debating whether or not he should say what he was thinking on air, waited a beat then said, "Well, we're sure in the right (correct) state for THAT!" or something similar.
Go Al! Seriously, he's the best play by play guy in the biz.
Michaels has slammed Clinton in the past worse than any comedian...basically compared people with no integrity to Clinton. Al is untouchable.

As a Raider fan, I kinda see where you're coming from, since he's usually not very complimentary toward us. Then again, few in the sports media are, so it's not like it breaks my heart or anything.
Oh and they are pissed at DU. They're calling for a letter writing campaign to complain to NBC. I say we write to NBC and support Al Michaels.
