PRESSTITUTE: "80%? Sure. Why not? Nobody'll ever check our math..."

Jackasses.

(The name made me curious)

From another article;

Support for the war in Iraq has eroded significantly in President Bush's home state since the conflict started almost a year ago, with nearly 60 percent of Texans registering disapproval with the way things are going, according to a statewide survey released today.

The latest Scripps Howard Texas Poll, conducted for the Star-Telegram and other Texas news organizations,

shows that while a majority of Texans still stand behind the president in his overall handling of the war, they are increasingly uncertain about instability in Iraq and the length of the U.S. occupation.

Conducted FOR the media?

Nahhh, it couldn't be biased! LOL

Yeah, it's probably like the BSC, but they interview reporters and media folks for their "poll" results.

If it is true, it is because they think, correctly, if not in law, that assault weapons are machineguns

No they are not. Assault rifles are machineguns, submachine guns are machine guns, and of course light and heavy machine guns are machine guns. Assault Weapon is a term made up by the gun grabbers, it means whatever we can convince enough sheeple is scary looking or sounding.

But your essential point is correct, they think the AWB covers machine guns, which it does not. Those, while not banned by federal law, are heavily taxed and regulated. The are banned in some states of course.

Even if the AWB banned machineguns, it would still be a clear and direct violation of the second amendment.

that's just a load of BS ....you'd think that they would at least make it somewhat believable and say 60% ..80% on any issue is rare ....80% on a banning any gun in TX is impossible

"which President Bush says he would extend"

He said if congress passed an extension and it got to his desk, he'd sign it. It's legislation that has to be extended by the legislative branch, not by executive order.

The law bars sale of 19 kinds of semiautomatic weapons that have decorative but not functional features of guns used by the military. Full auto weapons have been illegal for years without a license.

There that's better.

Not to change the subject, but wouldn't this be liable print? When are the citizens of this country going to hold the media responsible for what they print? The 1st Amendment (freedom of the press) was designed so that the TRUTH could be printed without any fear of repercussions from the government. That doesn't protect a citizen from the people when they print lies. Seriously, what can we do but submit an editorial and call this journalist a big, fat liar?

The report is simply CRAP-I'm a native of the state and lived there most of my life with exception of last couple of years, and I know better. The pollees must have been in the metro areas and be transplants if that is truly the results obtained; and, if that's the case, they aren't worth printing.

80%? In Texas? Absolute !

As we knew would happen, folks, the leftmedia is pulling out all the stops as they see their baby going down the toilet.

Problem for them is, as they shreik louder and louder, what's left of their so-called "credibility" is going down right behind it.

Can't happen too soon.

I think the question actually was: "Do you wish you could carry assault weapons?"
