The day after the presidential election, you are placed in charge of establishing the priorities for President Bush, including executive orders, legislative initiatives, judicial appointments and decisions over all Cabinet Secretaries and federal agencies.
Bush's coattails brought in a veto-proof Congress and you are in charge of deciding Bush's legislative initiatives, as well.

Next... convene a panel of legal experts to comb through Federal Legislation. Any "laws" currently on the books that overstep their Constitutional boundaries are to be sent to the USSC for them to rule on as Unconstitutional and have them stripped from the books.
Push for the repeal of the popular election of Senators and let the States handle that on a State by State basis.
Flush the IRS. Institute either an NRST or a Flat Tax.
Enact legislation making it a Treason offense to pass legislation, or rule from the bench, in a way that is clearly contrary to the plain language used in the Constitution.

2. Make congress cut spending!! Start vetoing stuff if you have to. Let's bring fiscal responsiblity back to our great, great party. The importance of this can't be overstated.
Next declare militant Islam an enemy, and through trashing political correctness arrest all those who spread it in America.
Isolate (through breaking diplomatic relations, ending trade, condemnation) regimes which allow it to prosper and who support it, namely - Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt. Iran is also such a country, but it is already isolated.
Institute a real plan to defend the Canadian, Mexian and coastal boundries which put as a priority security over being comfortable.
Have racial profiling.
Make it manditory that all public schools must hire at least 2 guards, and be fenced.
For major train and bus stations, and other major public places such as stadiums, have x-ray machines and armed guards. This should be there ALL the time.
Institute a program to make the public aware of how terrorists operate, how to spot them or suspicious things and the need to report it to the police. Make the public aware on how to REACT when a terror attack occurs.
Start a program where persons trained with counter-terror go to public schools, more frequently for the lower grades, at least twice a year, to teach kids specifically on what to do during a terror attack, and the older ones how to spot suspicious activity(for example, a person wearing a heavy coat on a hot summer day in the middle of the Washington Mall). Just like you teach kids not to talk to strangers, etc. this is how it has to be done.
This info should be played on TV, radio and flyers should be sent.
Bumper stickers should be placed in busses, trains, etc. telling people to report to the operator suspicous packages, etc.
Bus and Train operators should be required to search their vehicle at the start and end of every trip.
At major public places, there should be the construction of "safety holes" whereas, with police supervision or if there is a timer on a bomb, etc. these devices or suspected devices can be placed in that covered hole and if they detonate minimize surrounding damage (Israel has this).
Universities must increase their security.
The US must make it a habit of not learning just from personal lapses but from other country's lapses or experiences with terror.
Question all those who board international flights about where they are going, etc. Use that type of question and answer program counter-terror personal on El-Al flights use where they repeat questions after a while to see if the person is making the story up, etc.

Reform OSHA, streamlining regs, and reducing micromanagement.
Streamline EPA, and remove unnecessary regulations. Raise the burden of proof needed before regs are created, and require vote of representatives for any increases in strictness. Put coal back into the energy equation. Allow drilling in ANWR.
Defang all regulatory agencies.
Stop federal "blackmail" of states, such as threatening to withhold fed funds when states don't enact restrictive traffic laws (seat belts, and 0.08 DUI laws come to mind).
Tighten border security, and eliminate all federal benefits for illegals.

Tell me, what do you think is going to happen if we capture or kill Bin Laden?
What makes you think it isn't a priority?
As they have said before, capturing or killing Bin Laden is not going to stop terrorism.
So, chasing around a sick man is not the only thing we should be doing.
Don't get me wrong, I want him dead as bad as everyone else, but I am sick and tired of all the Bin Laden talk as if all of our problems would be over with if we got him.
I don't want all of our resources directed towards this one man.
It is a waste. They need to be doing exactly what they are doing, which is looking for Bin Laden AND dealing with other threats.
A manhunt doesn't require an entire military. There are plenty of people looking for him.
How bold of you to suggest that we have no interest in Bin Laden just because they don't give us a daily report.
