It seems fairly common in Russia. Do you remember the sinking of the submarine "Kursk"? There was a news report about the inquiry after the sinking. A woman was screaming at the committee members and security grabbed her and stuck a needle in her arm. They did it on camera.

"It seems fairly common in Russia." Yes. I haven't seen the footage of what you say, but I'd like to. The KGB (and CIA) perfected psychotropic warfare on agents during the Cold War. In fact not too long ago (Cold War still on?) a Russian posing as a double agent was drugged by the CIA. Not much press. Happens on both sides. The top terrorist in Chechnya was killed via poison letter, Poisoning Yushchenko, the use of gas in the theater hostage crisis...
