My niece just started med school on Grand Cayman. I was hoping the storm would go north.

Yes, I am praying. Prayers welcomed.

prayers seem to be working...after miraculous near miss of jamaica ivan is still moving west and not northwest and things are looking possible that a miss of a direct hit of grand cayman is now possible.

Hope all the Nice People make it safe thru the storm.

Can't say the same for the crooks with dirty money invested there. More than $420 billion in assets which amounts to $15 million for every man, woman, and child in the country.

Same here, I'm a nice person and I visited them last year.

The diving off turtle reef was great!

Hell, even the diving in the harbour was great. And I got introdiced to a very good Belgian lager: Stella Artois. Wish I could find it here in Indy.

Well, there's hope. Jamaica was spared a direct hit. Perhaps the Caymans will get lucky as well.

Normally drink Heiniken, but the dive master on Cayman drink only Stella, and after trying it, I liked it very much. Drank it the whole time I was there. Good stuff, if you can find it here in the states, try it.

Have friends with a new baby on Grand Cayman. Took refuge in a hotel, but it doesn't look good if there is a 25-foot surge.

When it's over, tell her to transfer to Hershey Medical School. Nice and safe there (except for a very occasional tornado).

You know what sport.

If I was in spitting distance of you I'd kick yer ass straight into Vanderbilt emergency room.....you heartless little keyboard commando.

We got fine folks here with loved one's in harm's way on a flatass little spit of an island with a top elevation of maybe 30 foot or so. Go crawl back in yer hole and pinch off butterfly wings or lick toads or whatever it is little peckerheads like you do.

Arsewipe wolf ticket boy.

She lives there; manages 3 resorts.

Which resorts? My mother-in-law spends her winters in a small condo on Seven Mile Beach (which may soon need a new roof). Hope everyone there can find good shelter. It must be strange to be there with all the tourists off the island.

not to mention Foolio doesn't realize Cayman corporation monies are not literally there and that the authorities there frequently cooperate with the Feds especially on dope cases.

Nor does it know what nation in the world holds title to world's largest depository for questionable funds..... it won't have to look too far...lol...maybe it wishes ill on us too given such sub-adolescent logic

Daughter has just called me.
She can hear trees snapping,
and on the East end, the road
is full of conch shells.

She has finally lost power,
altho she thinks the Hyatt
went ahead and shut it off.

It's starting to hit the Grand Cayman...
the outer band, not the eye yet.

Thank you so much.
She wants me to stay up
to provide her with news.
I am looking to find the update,
but nothing so far.
The satelite photos looks like the
outer bands are hitting Grand Cayman
with the eye looking pretty close to me.

She has my 3 little grandchildren with her.
Ages 1 year to 13 years.
