MOULTON Lynne Gobbell never imagined the cost of a John Kerry-John Edwards bumper sticker could run so high.
DAILY Photo by Clyde Stancil Lynne Gobbell said her boss fired her last week because of the Kerry-Edwards campaign sticker on the back of her car. Gobbell of Moulton didn't pay a cent for the sticker that she proudly displays on the rear windshield of her Chevrolet Lumina, but said it cost her job at a local factory after it angered her boss, Phil Gaddis.
Gaddis, a Decatur bankruptcy attorney, owns Enviromate, a cellulose insulation company in Moulton.
Gaddis did not return phone calls from THE DAILY about the alleged Thursday firing.
Gobbell said she consulted a lawyer, but then changed her mind about going to see him. She said she has cried about the incident and must do without income for three weeks while the state unemployment commission decides if she is eligible for compensation.

She seems to be on the same diet Gore is on.

typical dem doesn't even think about looking for another job.....
The Kerry sticker says it all she is an Idiot.
I don't believe it.
More than likely, she got fired for not performing her job adequately. This is just a typical flimsy leftist excuse.
I believe anyone who has a Kerry sticker can be legally let go for "integrity" issues.
was about to post the same line. haha.
I don't either. Smells "manufactured"...
"I would like to find another job, but I would take that job back because I need to work," she said. "It upset me and made me mad that he could put a letter in my check expressing his (political) opinion, but I can't put something on my car expressing mine."
She was referring to a flier that she said Gaddis placed in employee envelopes to remind them of the positive impact that President Bush's policies have had on them. An employee at the plant who would not identify himself confirmed the contents of the letter.
Gobbell provided a copy of the flier. It says:
"Just so you will know, because of the Bush tax (cut):
I was able to buy the new Hammer Mill
I was able to finance our receivables
I was able to get the new CAT skid steer
I was able to get the wire cutter
I was able to give you a job"
It further says:
"You got the benefit of the Bush tax cut. Everyone did."
And how is this different from the story oif a woman fired from a Moslem owned company in Florida becasue she ate a BLT sandwich at work? I'm definitely NOT a Kerry supporter, but firing someone over a political sticker, democrat or republican, is a bit over the top.
Bullcrap. Sounds like a charge made when she got fired for something else.
Better she be fired then thousands of us lose our jobs under a John Kerry failed economy.
That is what I thought, Liberals do some really underhanded things, I would not put it past her.
Maybe John Edwards will help her out -- he should be available 11/4. :-)
Sad day in a American, when you can play some stupid "liberal card" to keep a job you are goofing off on, just like their leader John Kerry..absent from his senate Job ....80 percent of the time.
Oh,(as a beautiful woman once said) "It's twwue, it's twwue!"
CBS has the memos to prove it.
Like John McCain for instance.
Why not? I'm sure that with 280 million people in this country, it's bound to happen to someone. I'm sure it's happened to Bush supporters, too.
Personally, I think it sucks, but I don't think it belongs in the courts. That would just open a can of worms. Whoopi Goldberg would go to court and sue Slim Fast. Where do you draw the line?
Send her up here to Chicago. We have a job waiting for her at the Secretary of State's office.
Gotta love the boss....

Can we find his e-mail address and FReep him an A-OK???
If that's the case, thousands would be outta work here in Los Angeles. La la land. These people are adime a dozen. I don't put Bush sticker on my car for fear my vehicle will be vandalized....

Republicans don't have to hire Democrats. Democrats don't have to hire Republicans. The GOP didn't have to hire Democrats for the NYC Convention, for example.
It is *legal* to discriminate based upon political affiliation.
For instance, I don't have to hire a member of the Communist Party USA.

Is that Edwards wife? The body is the same but the face is throwing me off :)
She may have been fired over the bumper sticker...
She stopped by the John Kerry campaign headquarters to pick up the sticker and complain about her boss's pro-Bush flyer. Her brief visit to HQ ran over, and she showed up at the office late.
Chronically late, she was fired.
That's how the sticker got her fired. ;-) *wink*
Oh Boo Hoo, go sign up for welfare.
Send him a big THANKS!!

Exactly, she should put in her application to be Elizabeth Edwards stand in.
if your read the story she didn't get fired she made a choice "you can work for him or for john kerry"
she chose john kerry lol
she is an idiot, she for walking out
she would have had a case if she left the sticker on here car and continued to work until the words "Your Fired" where uttered - but she didn't insted she walked out as if she made a choice between her boss and john kerry...
BS!!!
Possibly fired for indecision :
Gobbell said she consulted a lawyer, but then changed her mind about going to see him
The again she said she saw an attorney.
Then again will file for unemployment
Then again she needs a job.
Typical KERRY fan - whirrrs around a lot and gets no where.

I believe the cryin' part. Rats do a lot of that when they "feel" slighted.
Now that's what I call good government.
Sporting a sKerry sticker not only shows poor judgement, but substandard intelligence - both valid reasons for dismissal.
OTOH, maybe she can get a job as a professional crybaby for the Kerry Campaign--the Massachusetts senator seems to be constantly using them.
Shouldn't some high court in France rule on this, no?
I bet she will be appearing in Skerry's commercials in Alabama soon.
Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner.
Well no wonder she's mad. She'd rather be unemployed, sitting home eating bon bons.
Yeah, but look at the size of her bumper. It wouldn't have gotten noticed.
I still don't buy the premise of this article.
Just`from looking at her, I'd fire her too...
So she called the local paper and got a sympathy piece. Wonder if it's on the front page?
