Rob Strong Corinth, TX
I reiterate your very wise caution... don't know if this is THE Robert W. Strong
Our Robert Strong, the one identified in Powerline, lives "west of Austin". Corinth is "north of Dallas", so the BuzzFlash Rob Strong is NOT our Rob Strong.
Whether "our" Professor Robert Strong is the one at St. Edward's, I can't say. But WhitePages.com has a Robert Strong listed in Dripping Springs -- which IS "west of Austin".

I doubt it ... saw some references earlier to this linkage; but it didn't connect with me other than via the irony path.

Could it be he joined the TANG to evade Vietnam? The nerve!!!

Yes, but ship's counselor senses that Rush will have some
fun with it today.
I'm more interested in seeing the prevented-attacks
details get more coverage.

That last remark of Strong's jumped right out at me.
He flat out said that the Texas Air National Guard was corrupt; that's got to make some people who were involved furious!

The librarian's wife's name is
Cindy.
There are a lot of problems with my former librarian, current student and post-doctoral graduate teacher theory though. Let's not jump to conclusions without more research. Here are the inconsistencies:
1) It's rather far to commute from Austin (let alone Dripping Springs) to the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas every day.
2) Information Services/Library Science/Humanities/Whatever you'd characterize what the Robert W. Strong is teaching at St. Edward's University isn't English.
3) A post-doctoral associate isn't a professor. And they are usually young, not 62.

Not sure if you realized that the class taught by the Ann P. Strong that I cited in my last post was found at the link you provided to St. Edward's University scheule. Since Robert W. Strong is also listed as teaching at St. Edwards, I figured they were a married couple.

Could it be that he "professes" English at a high school?

It's odd, really odd, that CBS used this guy. How did they find out about him to begin with? How did they even get the idea to quote this fellow? There is a Robert Strong who is the administrator of a scholarship program at the college where he teaches. That scholarship program is funded by George Soros. Don't know if it's the same R. Strong...

What my main point was ( and I don't really care two cents about String since I think the docs have already attracked a large swarm of flies to their stink) that a "post doc" (which is what you listed the job titled as ...post doctoral associate) is a dirt cheap reseaRCH JOB THAT PAYS LESS THAN 20K A YEAR AND NO ONE that I have ever heard of would be doing that kind of work 30 years after their PhD. Moreover if one assumes thqt perhaps Strong delayed getting his PhD then there is no instance that I am aware of where an older PhD was ever awarded post doc work ( mainly bercause they want young slaves they can over work and steal ideas from without worrying about anyone complaining). So if the job title is accurate I would quit chasing it...and even if not who cares Strang and Matley aren't the issue...The real issue is what does CBS news know and when did they know it? And what does the Kerry campaign know and when did they know it?

Robert Strong is the last allegedly credible link in Rather's biased story, largely because he is hiding and hasn't been interviewed much by the rest of the media.
Your point is taken. This is probably not the Real Robert Strong. But I'm mystified that we can't seem to find any other reference to a Robert Strong that's teaching in the Austin area. Of course, he could be teaching for some place that doesn't have an on-line faculty directory, or even a website. Or maybe he's teaching high school, as Poincare suggested.
But it would not be inconceivable for a retired librarian drawing a pension to go back to his Alma Mater and teach research skills for next to nothing. It wouldn't be the first time a recently retired person went back into the community to teach the younger generation what he learned through the years. That seems to be the type of classes he was teaching. And it would make sense for a university to hire a seasoned veteran with such skills.

What I don't understand, perhaps the point, is how this relatively obscure individual came to be such an important piece of the puzzle. It suggests that he is in the SOURCE chain.
I also think there may be some "planted" false leads that may be protecting his true identity. May be. Hard to tell with such a common name.

Ok I understand now.....perhaps he has puffed his title (if it is him) so he sounds important when he is nothing more than a lecturer or visiting instructor
